Easy to Use, Easy to Put Away

I bought the Vitamix immersion blender in an effort to downsize all of my belongings. I will be moving, perhaps multiple times in the next few years and I want to go lean on possessions but I'm not willing to give up my smoothies! I found that the immersion Vitamix does just as good a job of making smoothies as the bigger Vitamix blender. I have also made pesto and crackers with it. It takes a little manual finesse, and a tall thin container (I use a 4-quart Mason jar mug, which I already possessed). It's much easier to get the mixture out of the container, or as in the case of smoothies you can drink it right out of the container. Very simple to clean and put away. I doubt if walnut butter is recommended because I don't see any recipes for it with the immersion blender, but I did take my chances to make a walnut butter by blending walnuts with some really soft creamy organic peanut butter. It came out chunky but it certainly tastes like walnut butter. It's not going to get the same kind of smoothness as the regular Vitamix blender, but I am just happy that I can actually have nut butters wherever I move to. The pest is a little bit chunkier too, but I don't have any problem with that. The smoothies come out very smooth. The product is so lightweight that I can always take it with me and doesn't take any counter space in the kitchen.

I bought my Vitamix based on the fact that I have owned the blender for 30 years and love it! The only reason for 4 stars is the fact that for this price, the accessories should come with it. Not only that, the food processor accessory isn't available yet, and no date in sight!

I have relied on an immersion blender for years, but never had one of this quality. After my previous machines kept failing, I wanted something that would last. This is remarkably POWERFUL, very QUIET, has adjustable settings and, I feel confident, will stand the test of time.

This is definitely more powerful and well made than my other average immersion blender. I was hoping I would not have to hold the on button, but evidently you have to with all of them. The things that are hard for me with this blender are it's a little heavy, I find it hard to twist the bottom off the top.
