The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the blender is quite heavy and large and I find it somewhat hard to handle. I just have to be careful. Otherwise it's performance as a blender is amazing.
Pros: Speed of Service, Texture Quality, Durability, Versatility, Power
I needed a new immersion blender and this one is very powerful. It's heavy for a petite person like me, I hold it with both of my hands. Mainly I use it for dips, dressings, and vinaigrettes and they always turn out beautifully. Some soups will be velvety but not ones with celery, unless they are cooked/softened to the edge of oblivion.
For me it was a fair trade off; WAY easier to clean, but doesn’t do well against leafy greens.

I love the product and the entire Vitamix line; I own most of them. I was disappointed that for the price it did not come with a container, a wall mount or a bowl attachment as my much less expensive one did that I bought years ago. I love the durability of your products and would love to see some of the above mentioned offered in the future and as an add on for those of us that got the immersion blender for Christmas.
So solid. Definitely the Vitamix of stix! I love the speed control. And, the head doesn’t scratch the bottom of my French oven. It is heavier than the less expensive brands, but it is not an issue.
I purchased this because my Cuisinart immersion blender had outlived its useful life AND because I own two vitamix blenders and believe in their quality. I understood it was a new product and the risks therein. I'm finding that it rarely comes out of the cabinet because I'm unhappy with how unwieldy it is to manage. The height of the assembled blender makes it very awkward to use, to store (even disassembled), and to set down between blends. I'm packing now to move and it was an easy decision to not take it with me, unfortunately. So while it may have a great motor and a sharp blade, in my opinion it needs some human factor improvements. I'd wait for version 2.
Perfect in every way, except: to release the blender shaft from the motor, one must twist to unlock, which, for 70+ year old Carpenter’s wrists, is a bit difficult and risks a serious onset of tendinitis. Given its performance, the locking mechanism needs to be very positive. Great product, just can’t recommend if one has a lifetime of hard work and difficulty with hard twisting motion about the wrists.
