[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been in the market for a year and a bit to upgrade my luggage set. I have done so much research and read forums. Luggage is like a treasured Christmas ornament on your tree. It's trusty and a part of your family. I'm not a light packer so worried about weight and what was inside. Bottom line, I went with the Silhouette 18. I took advantage of the sale and bought two. If they faired well, I will be adding more at a later time. First of all, I normally vacuum pack my clothes. Does it add weight? A bit. Let me say that I was so impressed with the packing cubes that come inside of it. They really work and should be a market of their own. The expanding zip was great, but didn't need it this time. We traveled from NY to London with them and they were not scratched... well, minor, but expected and was easy to take off. Nothing broken. I did notice that when my daughter put her bag with iPad and who knows what else (weighed a lot), on top of the suitcase, it did cave in a bit. However, it has popped back up. Maybe it's flexible material? I chose to blue to make it a bit different to spot and in hopes that future marks won't be noticeable. They really look chic. In conclusion, I would recommend.

Faulty zippers.

This is a beautiful suitcase and the outside material is elegant. Unfortunately the zippers broke on 2 of our suitcases on our first trip using them. The first time it broke during a flight and the airline had to put it in a plastic bag. The second time we had to get it saran wrapped at the airport because we were afraid that it was going to open during transportation again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
