[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sony Blu-ray Disc player is easy to set up and use. The picture quality is awesome and I can watch my DVD movies or stream through Netflix and You Tube with this player. Nice product.

Very compact!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sony - Blu-ray Disc™ Player is lightweight and very compact and I can put it anywhere with it being an “eyesore”. I was extremely impressed with the crystal clear playback of both DVD’s and Blu-Ray Disks.
The Sony - Blu-ray Disc™ Player comes preinstalled with Netflix BUT you can only connect to it via wired network. The Sony - Blu-ray Disc™ Player S1700 does NOT support WiFi connection.
You can connect a device via USB but it doesn’t connect to my cell phone.
My Sony - Blu-ray Disc™ Player came with the player, the power cord, and a remote with batteries. It did not come with an HDMI cable, but I used one I already owned.
I really like that set up was quick and simple and subtitles a just a click of a button away. No searching through the menu during a movie for the subtitles.
It’s a great little Blu-Ray player and I plan to enjoy many movies on it.

Great Blu-ray player

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got it to play Blu-ray’s and DVDs only. Was skeptical at first because it was so small. It is about the size of a paper back book. It comes with a remote, batteries, and an adapter. The remote controls my Sony tv and Blu-ray, which is a plus. I don’t have to use two different remotes to control the tv and Blu-ray player. The setup took about five minutes. The only thing I don’t like about it, is that it doesn’t come with any cords to help with setup, so please be aware of this before buying. Once setup was complete the picture was vibrant and clear. I played DVDs and Blu-rays alike and they both had excellent pictures. It also has a Netflix button, but I don’t know if it works, because I don’t have that streaming service. I would recommend this to anyone.

Great little player!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Blu-ray/DVD player is awesome. It's compact size allows it to be a really great solution for a secondary entertainment center like in a college dorm, kids' room, or bedroom. It has all of the important features you want in a player. My favorite feature is that the disk tray is cleverly concealed, so as not to be tempting for little children to pull on and break the trap door that is typically visible. There's a USB connection on the front of the unit to download firmware. In the couple of years this model has been out, there have been no updates, so we didn't need to do anything more than plug-and-play. This player does not have WiFi, so you will need a network cable to use Netflix streaming capabilities. If you want something fancy with lots of bells and whistles, this model may not be fore you, but if you're looking for something that will do the job and has the reputation of the Sony brand behind it, this is for you. Hopefully you'll find that you will love this little thing as much as we do!

The picture is beautiful and the machine itself works exactly as described we haven’t had a single issue with it.
