My old Sony Blu-ray froze several times, so I knew it was time to replace. I already have one, so getting a second was easy. I am using the remote from my old player since the remote of this one is smaller. I didn't have to upgrade the firmware. It syncs with my SONY television so one button turns on the player, and the television, which automatically sets the input.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I only use to play Blu-ray/DVD disks, but only time will tell if it's worth the price. Still in the the early stages of ownership, a product rating should be requested several times during the course of ownership, especially with electronics.
