Very disappointed at the distance needed for this probe to operate. I flipped a tritip to the other side of the grill and the probe lost connection.

Thank you for your review of the MEATER Pro Duo. The Probe has a range of 33 feet/10m in open air (line of sight) Appliances with thick metal lids or walls can limit the range. To maximize the range, the charger must be within 100ft/30m of the nearest Wi-Fi access point, and no further than 3ft/1m from the probe. Watch the included video to learn about range expectations. Worked flawlessly for turkey. But..I do not understand the lights on the block. When I plug it in it blinks red all the time. It does not stop. I would expect it to go solid non blinking once charged and ready. Confusing. When I remove the probe(s) it goes green as expected, so only perplexed by charging setup. And although the app is great, it could be improved to be more intuitive. Took me hours to figure out how to remove a probe from the app. I also had an issue where the app locked in on a final cook temp of 133 degrees (for turkey) which made no sense. Had to start cook over. But overall I've had great results.
I fixed Cornish hens and normally I would time cook them. I fixed 6 hens with 2 probes. I placed them in the breast of the 2 middle hens and rotated the pan half way through the estimated cooking time. Let rest before serving and they were almost perfect. Will add about 10 minutes to the cooking time going forward.
Wasn't impressed with the meater cloud on Thanksgiving. I left a review on Facebook and Instagram and they were promptly removed.

Thank you for your review. Thanksgiving was the busiest day of the year for us and to ensure it went smoothly we had our team of engineers on hand to help with issues as they arose. If you are having any specific issues you would like to get help with, please visit the Wizard on MEATER support https://support.meater.com/helper who will direct you to the information needed and also provide you with contact information to call/chat with one of our agents.
I bought this to augment my single Meater because I would be cooking more than one turkey this year, and also I wanted to measure the temperature in the breasts and also at the thighs. It was simple to add the additional 2 sensors to the Meater app.
I bought the Pro Duo before Thanksgiving 2024 because I was cooking 2 briskets simultaneously and expected this to work beautifully. I've cooked two more briskets since then.
For all 3 cooks, the base gave me a "low battery" warning during the cook even though I had charged it fully overnight. For all 3 cooks, I've had to use an external battery to keep it powered.
For yesterday's cook, Probe #2 did not work at all (still doesn't). I followed the online instructions - washed it and even used fine grit sand paper, used the reset button, put it back in the base, etc. - no good. I called Meater for help yesterday when probe #2 was not working. I spoke with a sympathetic lady who took all of my information down, but I was not helped at all. (I was supposed to get an e-mail right away but it still has not come.) Probe #2 is still not working.
I also noticed 2 days ago that the base was flashing lights even though I wasn't using it. So I charged it ovenight again, even though it should have had a full charge. It still gave me the "low battery" warning during yesterday's cook!
My wife commented that these briskets are the worst I've ever cooked (overcooked), even though I have changed almost nothing else. It feels like they are not reading correctly, even thought the app says they were calibrated.

Thank you for your review of the MEATER Pro Duo. I saw on your case that you were contacted, and this issue was resolved by updating your firmware and then doing a reset. Please ensure that both probes remain docked in the charger. Open the back panel of the charger and hold the reset button down for 2–3 seconds at most. The two LED lights at the front of the charger should both light up and then clear.
