Wireless doesn’t work

I have three of these. I originally bought the duo and the third was a gift. They don’t work. I can stand right outside my oven or grill and it will not stay connected. Starts out fine. Within minutes it disconnects and never reconnects.

Good day, Brad. It seems like the connectivity drops you’re experiencing may be related to signal interference or the limits of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi range. Even when close to the oven or grill, factors such as metal surfaces, walls, or other wireless devices can disrupt the connection. Another possibility is that multiple units operating in the same area could be causing overlapping signals, which can make it harder for the app to maintain a stable link.
A few steps that often help include ensuring each device has a direct line of sight to your phone or tablet, moving other wireless devices away during use, and restarting the units before pairing to reset their connections. Keeping the app updated and checking that your phone’s Bluetooth or Wi-Fi settings are optimized can also improve reliability.

Doesn't work without wifi

Where in the advertising of this product does it say that it doesn't work unless you have Wi-Fi? Where does it say that you have to create an account and login to it online to use it or it won't work?

The Wi-Fi connection and account login are currently required to complete the initial pairing process and to support features such as remote monitoring, cloud access, cook history, and device syncing. That said, while an account is needed to pair the probe, it can always be deleted after setup if you prefer not to keep it active. So much to love

I bought this for many reasons. The ambient temperature monitoring has helped me put thicker pieces of meat in hotter areas so it all finishes at the same time. I can make sure the pork chops are done properly and not dry and overcooked. Would buy again and again. Have gifted to others that love to cook.

Poor reality engineering shouldn’t cost this much

I’m very disappointed with the Meater Pro Duo. The connectivity is poor and inconsistent, which makes it frustrating to use during cooking. The temperature readings have also been inaccurate and unreliable, so I never feel confident trusting it with expensive cuts of meat. I also had the same issues with Meater Pro XL, so at least, they are consistent in being unreliable.
For the price, I expected a dependable product, but this feels like a waste of money. It may work a few times, but if you need something reliable, I would save your money and look elsewhere.
