Haven’t had it to long, When they work it’s great. However, The duo loses charge super fast. Probe 2 never connects, it’s always charging. When I take it out of port it loses connection even though charged. It’ll be laying on top of block and will tell me to move it closer to the block. I tired to return it, guy talked me into getting a new probe and trying again. We’ll see. For the money too much trouble, not worth it, don’t recommend. Would not buy again.

The rapid battery drain and connection loss with the second probe could be related to a pairing or firmware synchronization problem. If the probe shows as charging but disconnects immediately when removed, it may not be properly paired or fully calibrated with the Block. Additionally, Bluetooth signal strength can be affected by placement and interference, which might explain the message to move the probe closer, even when it’s resting on the Block.

Replacing the probe as you’re trying is a helpful step, and ensuring the firmware on both the Block and the probes is up to date can improve stability.

The connection between the probe and your phone relies on Bluetooth, which naturally has a limited range, especially if there are walls, doors, or metal surfaces between the device and the grill. Temp + - issue

I placed both probes in the same pork roast and the temperature readings were 30° different different
One was in one side of the roast, and the other was in the other at the same height, same distance and a good distance from each other
I do like the USB charging feature and have they both show up on the app at the top

Regarding the temperature difference, a 30° variation within the same cut can sometimes happen, depending on how heat is distributed in the cooking environment. Even if both probes are at the same depth, slight differences in fat content, bone placement, or proximity to the heat source can create uneven cooking zones. That said, this kind of variance is worth checking, especially if it persists across multiple cooks.

I bought this for my husband for Father’s Day. He’s had a smoker for a few years but sometimes struggled to get the results he wanted from the meat he smoked. The meat probes were very easy to setup and use. Everything he has made since has come out phenomenal. He especially likes the step by step instructions in the app, including pictures. He’s going to try brisket this weekend; I can’t wait.

First cook discovery

This was my first cook with the Pro Duo. One thing I discovered is if the ambient sensor is too close to the surface of the meat, it will read a little bit low due to cooling from the meat itself. Not good, not bad, just is. This is something I've never noticed before.
As a whole, is does function well and easy to use. I do recommend it.
