I love my meater plus which encouraged me to purchase the duo. However, so far I am not too happy with my purchase. Continuously, losing connection with the block which is annoying.
Response from MeaterBy Traeger GrillsTraegerJuly 9, 2025
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're really glad to hear that you've enjoyed using your MEATER Plus and that it encouraged you to try the Duo.

The connection loss you're experiencing with the charging block may be related to WiFi signal strength, interference from nearby devices, or a setting within the Block’s connection mode. The charger operates in either local WiFi mode or direct pairing mode, and if it's not firmly connected to a stable network, it may struggle to maintain communication with the app or probes. Ensuring the Block is within strong and consistent WiFi range, and that it’s updated to the latest firmware, can often restore a more reliable experience.

We’d be happy to take a closer look and help you get the most out of your MEATER Duo. Please feel free to contact us at support.meater.com, where our team is available by chat or phone to assist you directly.

Disappointed!

Had an original Meater that was great. Decided to upgrade to a Meater Pro plus. It was fine until lately when it would disconnect after about an hour and a half. Tried changing battery but no effect. Thought maybe it's just getting old so decided to upgrade to the Pro Duo. Problem is, the second probe refuses to connect. It's recognized while charging, but as soon as you remove it from the base- no connection (even when it is right against the base.) Love the product when it works, but until they fix the connection issues, I'll probably try something else.
Response from MeaterBy Traeger GrillsTraegerJuly 9, 2025
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It sounds like you’ve been a long-time user of MEATER products, and we appreciate your continued support through your upgrades. From what you described, the disconnecting behavior on the MEATER Plus after about an hour and a half could point to a connectivity degradation, possibly related to Bluetooth signal strength or internal wear in the probe’s antenna over time. As for the MEATER Pro Duo, it’s encouraging that the second probe is recognized while charging, which suggests the probe itself is functioning and charging properly. However, if it's failing to connect once removed, this may indicate a pairing issue between the probe and base, or a potential firmware synchronization glitch.

To help resolve this, we recommend re-pairing the Pro Duo base and updating to the latest firmware through the MEATER app. Make sure Bluetooth and location services are enabled on your device and that the probe is fully charged before testing again. If the issue persists, we’d love to help you further.

My product doesn't work. It does not link to my phone.
Response from MeaterBy Traeger GrillsTraegerJuly 9, 2025
Thank you for letting us know about your experience. When the product doesn’t link to your phone, it is often related to Bluetooth connectivity or app pairing settings. Ensuring that your phone’s Bluetooth is enabled, the MEATER app has the necessary permissions, and that the probe is fully charged can help establish a successful connection. Sometimes restarting the app or your phone can also resolve temporary connection delays. If these steps don’t improve the connection, it may be helpful to reset the probe and try pairing again through the app’s setup process.

Great but flawed

I love the ability to get temps over WiFi and the application is extremely user friendly. The only downside is that the hub has to be extremely close to the probes or it looses signal. If you are doing a roast wrapped in aluminum foil it’s almost impossible to use. And that is with the Meater protruding outside of the foil.
Response from MeaterBy MEATERMEATERJuly 29, 2025
Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting the strengths of the WiFi connectivity and user-friendly app. The close proximity required between the hub and probes is related to the signal range limitations, which can be affected by barriers like aluminum foil. This can impact the connection reliability during certain cooking methods. We recommend positioning the hub as close as possible and minimizing obstacles to improve the signal. Haven’t had it to long, When they work it’s great. However, The duo loses charge super fast. Probe 2 never connects, it’s always charging. When I take it out of port it loses connection even though charged. It’ll be laying on top of block and will tell me to move it closer to the block. I tired to return it, guy talked me into getting a new probe and trying again. We’ll see. For the money too much trouble, not worth it, don’t recommend. Would not buy again.
Response from MeaterBy Traeger GrillsTraegerJuly 9, 2025
Thank you for sharing your experience with the MEATER Duo. It’s good to hear that when the device works, it meets your expectations. The rapid battery drain and connection loss with the second probe could be related to a pairing or firmware synchronization problem. If the probe shows as charging but disconnects immediately when removed, it may not be properly paired or fully calibrated with the Block. Additionally, Bluetooth signal strength can be affected by placement and interference, which might explain the message to move the probe closer, even when it’s resting on the Block.

Replacing the probe as you’re trying is a helpful step, and ensuring the firmware on both the Block and the probes is up to date can improve stability.

Love the product, but if the phone went very far away from the grill it would disconnect.
Response from MeaterBy Traeger GrillsTraegerJuly 9, 2025
Thank you for your feedback, it's great to hear you love the concept and overall design of the product.

The connection between the probe and your phone relies on Bluetooth, which naturally has a limited range, especially if there are walls, doors, or metal surfaces between the device and the grill. Keeping your phone closer to the Block or using the MEATER Cloud feature with WiFi can help extend your monitoring range significantly. If you’d like help setting that up or have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at support.meater.com. Our team is available by chat or phone to assist you.
