This is my 2nd cook, Ribeye came out to perfection. Seat first, then moved to low heat, and the MEATEr adjusted time well.

Absolutely love it compared to other probes I have used in the past. I like the feature that estimates the cooking time. Also the waterproof feature is great for cleaning. I’ve only used it for 5 cooks so far but haven’t had the first issue.

I love this thing and the app. I bought it to be able to do high temperature searing of steaks. It works, but it gives some erroneous results if you depend upon it to tell you when to pull a steak and let it rest. This is predominantly why I give it only 4 stars. My experience is that it always overshoots the final doneness temperature when doing high temperature cooks. I have to lie to it and input a target temperature about 8-10 degrees lower in order to pull it and have the meat at the right doneness after resting. I don’t have this issue when doing lower temperature cooks. Also, it needs to come with a better set of instructions for installing the app as I had all kinds of grief trying to get the probes paired. It also could be improved by providing instructions on how to remove the smoke stain on the probes.

The concept of this device is great. When it works I love it. My problem is that it frequently disconnects from my phone and I don’t know how to reconnect it. As a result it is worthless at times.

Hello, and thank you for reviewing the MEATER Pro Duo. Disconnects from the app can be due to a few different things, including the battery management settings on some phones. In this case, you should be able to set the battery usage to unrestricted, which will allow the app to continue running in the background. However, we might want to make sure that the disconnect isn't between the probes and the charger as well, which is something that can also be easily corrected. I’ve had the chance to use all of the Meater products and so far this is my favorite unit. Two probes is the perfect amount for my typical meals. The thinner design makes it easy to use these probes with anything.

I love my new upgrade to the Pro Duo! I love cooking different proteins so using it as a pair is awesome! It’s easy to set up & the wifi monitoring is a great upgrade!
