I just love the features to my new GE washer. It's so easy to select the settings needed for each load. And the best part is it tells you the total time it will take for the selected cycle. Way to go GE!

Loud grinding of washer drum!

The grinding noise of the drum during the wash cycle is awful! Is this normal? If I had known this I would have never purchased!

We'd like to help go over the sound level of your washer.
A grinding sound that is similar to an electric can opener is normal. During load agitation the agitator rotates in one direction, followed by a short pause, and then rotates in the opposite direction. This gives it an electric pulsing, humming or buzzing noise.
