The Deep Fill selection button on the GTW585BSVWS is a dual-function button and it allows you to choose between adding an additional 3 gallons of water to the wash cycle or up to a full 26 gallons. To choose the deepest fill level possible, press and hold the Deep Fill button for 3 seconds. More information on the Deep Fill option can be found on page 14 of the owner's manual and in the article linked below.

Great features, kinda loud

So far so good. We really like the controls and how we can control the water level, although it does also have an auto water level feature. My only complaint is it's a bit loud when washing. The agitator is noisy. Otherwise, we hope it'll serve us for a long time.

George Jetson's Dream Machine

I love the old fashioned mechanical switches, but this is the digital era. With the digital selections on this washer there has to be hundreds of options available. I bought the extended warranty (just for the computer controller, as a just in case option). That being said, look around at all the digital equipment that lasts a long time with little to no issues (yes there are exceptions, but if they fail, that usually happens within a short time following purchase and are covered by the manufacturers warranty) The tub on this unit is huge and easily susceptible to being put off balance during the spin cycle with large loads. That being said, the unit appears to have the ability to sense the off balance condition and attempts to self correct the condition. IF I had to do it over I would buy a GE front load washer where both ends of the drum are secured.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Solid washer, good water levels
on December 30, 2024

A workhorse of a machine. Washed 5 loads (clothes, sheets, towels, comforters, waterproof mattress covers) with a variety of cycles (normal, quick, bulky, towels, delicate) on the first day to really test it out. Washes well and uses good water levels even with auto fill selected. Very easy to customize cycles and add water if needed. Good, solid agitator. My sheets and towels were definitely moving well, same when washing two twin comforters. Washer was not acting sensitive or giving any unbalanced load issues, was not "walking" or excessively shaking. Not the quietest, but that was expected. Reason for 4 stars and my biggest gripe: once the cycle is done it does not turn off automatically - all the lights are on and it flashes "End" message and you need to manually power off - for this level of electronics on it, the auto turn off should be a given. Smaller annoyance: anytime the lid is opened during a cycle, it adds a small splash of water once the lid is closed prior to resuming - not sure what the purpose of this is, but useless in my opinion. No drum clean cycle, but I suppose it still can be cleaned using one of the cycles, but manual is silent on the cleaning. Overall - solid good washer, just hope it lasts.
