[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new GE gas dryer. It can hold a large load of items and runs very quietly. I especially like that I can add or subtract minutes to the drying cycle as well was select the wrinkle free option for drying shirts.

We’re thrilled to hear you’re enjoying your dryer, especially its large capacity, quiet operation, and the ability to adjust drying time or select the wrinkle-free option for your shirts.
This model also includes Sensor Dry, which continually monitors temperature and moisture to determine the right drying time, protecting your laundry and preventing over-drying. The My Cycle Setting lets you save your favorite dryer settings as a preset, making future laundry days even easier.
Thank you for being part of the GE Appliances family!

Great features DO NOT work

A load of clothes does not dry with first attempt. They are always damp. I have to go to the basement two times and run the dryer again to get clothes dry. I have tried everything, including doing small loads (how efficient is that if I have to run the dryer many more times); changing cycles; changing temperature; making sure only same fabrics are done at same time. For example, men's white crew socks are done alone (small load as it's only for one person. I checked the instruction manual to make sure I am not missing anything. I am not.

We'd like to assist with the issue you're having with drying. In addition to the steps you mentioned, we recommend checking the fuse/circuit breaker to ensure there's no issue and the ducting to make sure it's clean and not obstructed.
We also have an article about what to check when clothes are taking too long to dry, linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18058
If troubleshooting doesn't help, our Bodewell service team is available at 833-426-3393. They are open Monday – Friday, 8AM – 8PM ET, and an appointment can be scheduled online as well, at this link: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

Clothes still seem to be damp when using the sensor drying feature
Response from geappliances.comBy Adrian, GE_Appliances, January 16, 2026
We are happy to provide guidance with this dryer. The drying performance will vary based on multiple factors such as the size of the load, the type of fabric (cottons hold more water than synthetics), the wetness of the clothes and the condition of your exhaust ventilation. Using the proper venting material and making sure the vent ductwork is the proper length is very important to the operation of a dryer. We also advise removing and cleaning the lint filter each time it is used. The filter can be washed with warm soapy water to remove fabric softener residue from the screen.
We have provided some additional troubleshooting tips to help with the drying of your items here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18058

We also love the large 7.4 cu. ft. capacity of your dryer! We also appreciate this model's display controls, which are designed to give you the most accurate and easy-to-use information regarding the available modes, time remaining in your cycle, drying level, and much more. You can find more information about the available settings and modes on pages 8–10 of the owner's manual here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--U8h21IVx--/80509adbcc4074029478592026bc8b47388dd5a6.pdf

What a total let down

I am so disappointed. We literally got this dryer delivered yesterday. First load in and I hear this loud metal scraping noise. I take the laundry out and start it up again, and still hear the noise. The drum is not aligned right or something and is hitting some metal internally. How does a brand new dryer do this? Beyond irritated. Now I get to wait for a repair man to come out at the end of the week to "fix" My brand new dryer that I have used one time. And don't get me started on how not easy it was to schedule the service. And was told it was out of warranty and will need to pay?!! How? I just bought it a day ago. So beyond angry.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Never dries in one load. Always have to run it twice if not more.

We'd like to assist with your dryer not drying loads properly. Firstly, let's make sure we are cleaning the lint filter before every load, as well as matching the control settings to the type of load you are drying. You may also want to make sure the duct is clean and not blocked or bent. It also helps to divide the items into heavy and light piles as well.
For further troubleshooting, see the article here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18058
If the clothes still won't dry properly after trying the suggestions provided, please schedule a service appointment with a Bodewell technician by calling 833-426-3393 or schedule online at https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service
