To have such a large cubic foot (7.4) dryer, WHO on earth designed the filter system? It defies all common sense, being so small, and have to EMPTY after each load? Why do I get the impression this was a stupendous mistake in design? And the trash that falls into the filter space? Where does it come from? It looks like pieces of chalk, which I do not use, and it's horrible to clean out! Come on people, for such a big company, you can and should be able to do better than this. And WHY is the bottom of this dryer so MUC LOWER than you used to make! It's too LOW for the handicapped, and the elderly, espeically with back problems. Were these changes even researched before implementation?

The sensor has gone out less than a month after purchase. Very disappointed with the quality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Appears to be of good quality. Purchased for GE’s reputation with appliances. Easy access to installation areas. Level screws were easy to adjust. Front door orientation swap was straight forward. After putting hands on the unit I am pleased with our purchase. The door does feel weak compared to other components, but it is light and closes easily so I do not have concerns with this.
Welcome to the world of digital automation. I prefer the old fashioned mechanical switches 3 water levels 5 wash cycles and mechanical timer, but those days are gone. Bought the extended warranty to ease my anxiety of electronic failure and hoping I won't need to use it. That being said, look around, today is a digital world.
We wanted the lint screen in the front, easy controls, and most importantly a warning buzz abt a minute from turning off.
