I have been trying to dry the very first load of clothes now for four hours! The dryer will not get hot enough! This is the first load!

We'd like to help out with your dryer taking too long to dry.
We recommend checking for any obstruction or tears in the ductwork. This can greatly impact the drying performance. We also suggest checking out the lint filter, it is always recommended to clean the filter before each cycle.
You can view additional troubleshooting information here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18058
If you are still experiencing issues, we suggest scheduling service with our Bodewell team. You can do so by calling 1-833-426-3393 or by visiting this link: https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service
I really like the flexibility this dryer gives you in choosing how you want to dry. There are eight different presets based on fabric type and desired cycle. Or you can manually choose how long, how dry, and how hot/warm you want to dry a load. I haven't had to use the wrinkle care feature, as my clothes and sheets come out virtually wrinkle free anyway. I also love how this dryer shows you how much time is left in the drying cycle. So far, no matter what cycles or times or temperatures I have tried it always dries my clothes, sheets, and towels perfectly and in much less time than my previous dryer.
My only negatives are it can be difficult to clean the lint trap and the door is not the easiest to close (it takes some pressure to engage the latch into the catch mechanism).
HORRIBLE dryer!! Have to run it at least 90 minutes to dry a half washer machine load of clothes. I’m having to hang towels on the clothesline outside. DON’T buy this dryer!

Drying times for a dryer will vary according to the size of the load, the type of fabric (cottons hold more water than synthetics), the wetness of the clothes and the condition of your exhaust ventilation. We have provided some troubleshooting tips here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18058
If the tips provided above do not help with the drying process, service is advised. You can schedule an appointment with a Bodewell technician by calling 833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
The manual contained incorrect installation instructions. The manual's measurement for cutting the duct pipe left the pipe too short. In addition, the side knock out hole would NOT knock out! After a very frustrating installation, the dryer itself seems to be operating just fine.
We’ve only had this for about a week so it is possible my thoughts will change but these are my thoughts a week in. Overall, I am satisfied with the product for the price. Pro: it dries clothes quietly. Con: it seems to take longer to dry than our previous dryer of the same capacity. Also, I’m very concerned about the door. It is plastic and difficult to open. I’m actually worried it might break over time. I only have our previous one to compare it to and that was metal and much sturdier. Maybe this one just needs time to be broken in? I hope so. I wouldn’t say there is anything overly special about this dryer. It drys clothes and has multiple setting options which was a main feature we were looking for.
