Disappointing
on January 27, 2026

I am not impressed. I don’t think it is drying the clothes as well as previous dryers. I have to put it on for longer time and use the time setting because all of the other settings don’t get the clothes fully dry. Also the lint tray is not easy to slide out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We would like to provide guidance with this dryer. Drying performance will vary based on multiple factors such as the size of the load, the type of fabric (cottons hold more water than synthetics), the wetness of the clothes and the condition of your exhaust ventilation. Using the proper venting material and making sure the vent ductwork is the proper length is very important to the operation of a dryer. We recommend the use of a solid metal vent pipe 4" in diameter for adequate operation. 4" diameter flexible metal venting may be used but will increase the drying time. We don't recommend the use of flexible, white, plastic vent pipe. This type of vent pipe can collapse and restrict the airflow, causing lint to build up inside the dryer. We also advise removing and cleaning the lint filter each time it is used. The filter can be washed with warm soapy water to remove fabric softener residue from the screen.

We have provided some additional troubleshooting tips to help with the drying of your items here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18058

Your feedback is extremely important to us. We will pass these comments regarding the lint filter along to our product team to review.

Worked for 1 year

Dryer worked fine for a year but recently started making this awful squeaking sound. I’m extremely disappointed with this product from GE not just from the dryer failing, but because it happened 13 months from when I bought it and the warranty is only good for 12 months. For a dryer that is basically brand new, now I have to pay to have it serviced or replaced. Thanks GE.

Loud thump every time the drum rotates
on February 13, 2026

I bought this dryer to replace a previous GE dryer that was similar to this model. The new one makes a loud thumping sound every time the drum rotates. This happens even if the dryer is empty. I’ll be calling my vendor tomorrow about this. Hopefully, they will resolve it at no cost to me.
Update: the repair person said that the problem was a quality issue with the drum, and ordered a replacement drum.

We'd like to assist with your dryer's thumping sound. It's important that you make sure your dryer is level, is on a solid, secure floor and that nothing is leaning against it. You can click here for more information about leveling your dryer: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17925.
If the issue continues, we recommend scheduling service with our Bodewell team by calling 1-833-426-3393 or online here: https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service

Poor performance

Sadly it is one of my very poor purchases. The only drying setting that works is heat (none of the auto options dries the cloths. Unfortunately I travel as well as caring for a special needs daughter otherwise I would have returned the device.

Won't Dry Clothes

I'm not sure if my dryer is defective but it takes three sometimes four cycles for my loads to dry on medium heat. I prefer the low setting but it never dries on the low heat setting. I clean the filter after each cycle and that still doesn't work.

Good product but ducting was a problem
on February 20, 2026

Dryer performs fine but the exhaust duct connection was larger than 4", and I was unable to connect a rigid fitting to it. I had to use flexible ducting, not the preferred way to do it
