Works Great

So far so good. Drys great. Quiet. Only think i wish it had was a way to adj the time on time drying. So least time is 10 min. I would life to be able to up or down arrow to increase slightly or decrease before the next 20 min. Sometimes you just need 5min. Instead i adj the heat temp lower on 10 etc.

I love this dryer! It fits all my laundry plus has smart cycles to preserve energy for my loads. The dryer makes a noise when the load is done and you can adjust the volume to your wants!

Lint bypassing the filter screen is concerning
on July 2, 2025
Posted by: tid1967
The GE model GTD58EBSVWS, 7.4 cu ft dryer wasn't my first choice (I prefer the Whirlpool with the pull-down hamper door), but I bought this one to match the GE GTW585BSVWS, 4.5 cu ft top-load washer, which has thus far been great. Sensor drying of the GE model GTD58EBSVWS dryer often stops the load while some clothes, especially pants, are still damp around the waistline or pockets. I find myself setting the dryer to More Dry now on a regular basis; kind of surprised that this only initiates a 30-minute cycle. My dryer had issues with the lint screen. The screen's plastic frame/housing was malformed, with extra "flash" in the left corner, making it difficult to remove the lint screen. Also, the design where the lint screen is below the dryer door results in a substantial lint deposit forming in the bottom of the dryer cabinet after 8-10 weeks, under the lint screen, even though I clean the lint screen after EVERY load. (I've viewed a few YouTube movies on how to clean the lint out of the dryer bottom, and they're usually GE dryers.) Why can't the dryer be designed so that all the lint can be caught by the screen? The buildup of lint creates a potential fire hazard! I've just invested in a slim vacuum hose and tip and special brush so that I can clean the lint without having to disassemble the dryer.

We'd like to assist you with your dryer. When it comes to a change in the dryer's performance, we do recommend vacuuming the lint from the dryer lint filter area. You can find this information on page 11 of the owner's manual. Here is the link:

As far as the drying, there are a few possible reasons that can cause the clothes to still be slightly wet, such as improper sorting, underloading, or large loads of heavy fabrics. We recommend referring to page 12 of the owner's manual for troubleshooting.
