Buy extended warranty NOW, quality going down

We replaced ALL of the appliances in our house, after a couple of the original ones finally went out. All were 20-40 year Whirlpool. We buy for features, so our new appliances only included Whirlpool washer, dryer and this refrigerator. The washer and dryer were broken on delivery, and the store was out of more, so we opted for a different brand, leaving the fridge as the only Whirlpool appliance. Within 4 months, the ice maker stopped working. It was replaced, and we were happy, for 4 months, then it stopped working again. Still under warranty, it will be replaced, but the next time it will be on us. I asked about going ahead with the extended warranty, and was told it was too late because it already had one repair. We have already decided to go with a different brand, even if it doesn't have all of the features we would like.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Small drawers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a replacement fridge from our home warranty company. It looks good and the features on the ice/water door dispenser are nice. The storage drawers are much smaller than our last fridge and We seemed to have lost more storage space than we thought we would. The lighting is much better.

Has it's flaws

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I noticed issues with the freezer side, not freezing ice cream properly, comes set with optimum setting from factory, so I haven't changed it, and that's another story, it's all digital, the ice access on outside of door doesn't work unless most of ice is removed from catch container, it's unpredictable. I also find that filtered water does not store to chill and serves mostly before it's chilled.

Great space!
