[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have only had the machine for about a month now but it is a huge upgrade from what we had. It's quiet, love the 3rd row, and it cleans dishes out old one would not.

I am thrilled with the 500 Series: Adjustable upper rack, upper utensil rack, quiet operating and the door popping open at the end of the cycle. Appreciate the quality!

This is my first Bosch. Replacing an 8 year old GE Profile (which replaced a 17 year old GE Profile). I purchased the Bosch based on recommendations from three friends and one appliance repair person. It was a few hundred dollars more than the GE Profile I compared it to. Ultimately, I decided to go with Bosch because of the high reliability ratings from Consumer Reports. The dishwasher does an excellent job cleaning; only once or twice have I had a single item not get 100% clean. It dries pretty well; I don't use a lot of plastics but as far as most other things, there is usually only residual water if a dish was not properly placed to allow for runoff. The dishwasher is very quiet although not silent like my previous one. This is my first dishwasher with a third rack. Silverware and utensils placed in the third rack get very clean; I think cleaner than a utensil basket on the bottom rack. There are things I preferred in my old dishwasher however. I felt like I could get a lot more items in my old dishwasher. The third rack prevents taller items (water bottles and wine glasses) from being placed in the second rack unless you drop the second rack down. When you do so, however, regular dinner plates on the bottom rack then hit the washing arm above them (it's attached to the underside of the second rack). Also, the provided wine glass holders that attach to wine glass stems do not fit my wine glass stems so they are useless to me (and I haven't seen how I can remove them). I use wine glasses fairly often so I feel like I'll have to figure out another solution for stem security, lower the second rack, and not wash dinner plates in the same load. That is unfortunate. At this price, I would also expect the second rack to have adjustable tines; mine does not. The bottom rack holds a lot of plates, more than I would load before running the dishwasher. So that's great if you use a lot of plates rather than a lot of bowls. If more of the bottom rack's tines were adjustable, I could get more larger items to fit. Just a portion of this dishwasher's bottom rack tines are adjustable. I have read on user forums that users feel the dishwasher develops odors due to residual water remaining (in the pump? Filter?); I haven't noticed that yet but I do leave the dishwasher door open at night. You really can't leave it ajar during the day because it is too far ajar to not be in your way. The app is useful for receiving messages about refilling the rinse aid, the cycle is complete, etc. Overall, I am reasonably happy with this purchase and if it turns out to be reliable for many years, then it is worth a few of these inconveniences. If it turns out to have a shorter life (like almost anything you purchase these days), then I may go back to GE to save money.

Amazing Dishwasher - Tricky to Load

It is quiet and does a great job washing the dishes - even pots and pans. 100 times better than the Jenn Air we used to have. Our only complaint is that we struggle to load it. We love the bonus rack for silverware. The top rack gets filled quickly with glasses and bowls. Since we generally wash handwash our pots and pans, we often don't have enough to fill the bottom rack when we need to run a load. When we do choose to load our pots and pans there is no issue, but I wish there were more flexibility with the bottom rack so we could more easily load bowls there. Overall a great washer! So happy with our purchase!

Bosch 500 series

Door won't open after clycle complete (seems to me a dumb solution for moisture problem) and as noisy as my old Jennier. Both my kids have the 800 series and are happy. I did not realize how completely different the 500 was. Am willing to trade up if possible.

Love my Bosch dishwasher

It gets my dishes clean, it is very quiet, and I love how the door opens automatically at the end of the cycle to allow steam to dissipate and helps with drying process. The only thing I have been unhappy with is the small silverware container. Other than that, I love my Bosch!!
