I like this mixer, but the bar does not keep the dough from climbing the dough hook, at least with low hydration doughs.

My New Best Mixer

Even though I've owned a collection of high end mixers for a long time, I'd taken to hand kneading because nothing else reliably got the dough extensible enough. A recent bout of tendonitis ended my hand kneading, and the consolation prize was my Halo Pro. It does such a great job, than even though my wrist has recovered, I've been using the Halo Pro for all of my bread and pizza doughs. I also love the design and the quality build of the machine. And the controls are so easy to master.

I can't believe how mu h this mixer takes your Pizza, Pasta, Bread to the next level. Mixing to full gluten development is a breeze with this spiral mixer. Cookies and Pasta have come out great as well.

It so far has been great. My first spiral mixer. It makes some weird clicking noises but it has a 5year warranty so not too worried. 5 stars if not for the weird sounds.
