The mixer is beautiful and makes smooth and puffy dough. The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that it makes a clicking noise from within while in use, which intensifies in volume and number as speed and load changes. I contacted support and they assured me that this will not affect performance, but if not for this issue I would have given 5 stars.
I’m loving my Ooni Halo pro. Mixes bread beautifully!!!! I’m not crazy about the whisk but the paddle attachment works great. Overall I couldn’t be more happy with my decision to go with this mixer!!!!
I am making pizza for my entire neighborhood for the 4th of July and just mixed over 5kg of neo pizza dough last night. The machine handled it without issue and the dough comes out feeling like silk. Incredible.
My life as a baker has changed with the purchase of the Ooni Halo Pro! Over the last 30 years, I have owned a KitchenAid 5-qt Professional Standmixer and, about 12 or so years ago, I switched to the Breville 5-qt Bakery Chef (which I loved and much preferred to the KitchenAid). My baking has shifted over the last 6-8 years to include more bread and pizza baking, and I just never felt that neither of the two prior stand mixers was mixing and kneading the dough fully. When I saw a video demonstration of the Ooni Halo Pro with the breaker bar and counter-rotating bowl, it just made sense!
I've been using my Ooni Halo Pro for several weeks to make bread, pizza dough (including gluten-free), and cookies. The results have been superior to those of my prior machine. I love the level of speed control, the large, wide-open, lighted bowl, the timer function (although my Breville had this, too), and the sturdiness of the attachments. The Ooni is an upgrade and, in my opinion, absolutely worth it.
If you’ve been on the fence about investing in one, consider this your sign to take the plunge. It won’t cut it for my larger orders but it holds double the amount my kitchenAid did and It’s perfect for batches, like cookies, special wheat loaves, or baked goods with inclusions. She is so beautiful and easy to work with, even when you’re not feeling like baking, she’ll motivate you 😉. No more finding pockets of flour at the bottom of my bowl or worrying about overheating/shaking from the big batches I ran with my kitchenAid.
