Money Well Spent!

Although my wife and I spend equal amounts of time in the kitchen, she does the heavy duty cooking when it comes to sourdough bread and such. Last year we got the typical kitchen aid mixer and it ended up being a mistake. Lo and behold, Ooni comes out with this beauty and it was a no brained. It looks good in the kitchen and performs amazing. Now our pizza dough is a breeze to prepare. Thanks Ooni for this great innovation.

I have been mixing/kneading my pizza dough by hand since I started making pizza. As our weekly pizza nights have grown, I have had to double/triple batches to accommodate the growing crowd. My hands were becoming so sore (carpal tunnel syndrome), that I finally decided to purchase a mixer.
I did plenty of research and fell in love with the size and design of the Ooni Halo Pro Spiral Mixer. I have only used it a few times, since it arrived 2 weeks ago, but I have only one regret - I regret not having purchased this sooner! I absolutely LOVE this mixer

Compact spiral mixer at a good price

I have been using the Halo Pro for about a month, mainly to make high hydration doughs. The mixer is sturdy and sleek, the dough hook and bowl are of excellent quality. I love the speed and precision of the mixer, althought I rarely go above 50% (30-40% is equivalent to a second speed on traditional dough mixers).
Two things that could be improved:
- I wish the minimum dough requirement was a bit lower. It's not a big deal when making bread or pizza dough, but when making something that uses more expensive ingredients (e. g. panettone, pandoro, etc. ) I always have to make extra to prevent the dough from climbing up the hook (even if I keep the temperature of the dough as low as I can with ice and cold water); I have not tried other mixers on the market, but some advertise a minimum dough of just 500g;
- I, like many others I suspect, am never going to use the other attachments. I bought this mixer as a dough mixer, I wish there was the option to buy it at a slightly lower price without the extra attachment. That would also allow to ship it with a fixed breaker bar (not that I have had any problems with the removable bar, but I've seen other people complain about it).

I’ve only had opportunity to use this a couple of times … so far and I must say that I’m impressed. I must give kudos to the packaging engineers. The innovation, design and quality are top flight. Ooni definitely hit it out of the park.

Love the size. Easily handles four large bread loaves at a time. No need to do stretch and folds-time saver! Highest rise of all my bread making attempts. It is a game changer in all the best ways.
