Incredible Mixer

I have been making bread for years and this mixer got my dough easily to the window pane stage easily. I have never felt such soft and smooth dough. It is far better than the Kitchen Aid mixer.
I received my Ooni Halo Pro Spiral Mixer last week.
Since then, my pizza dough production has not improved.
It has been seized by a higher power.
Before the Halo Pro, I was mixing dough like a medieval labourer with broadband. Bowls. Scrapers. Uncertainty. Gluten developing only after negotiation. I thought I was making pizza dough. I now realise I was merely asking flour polite questions and hoping it would respond.
Then this machine arrived.
Seven litres of rotating-bowl authority. A spiral dough hook. A removable breaker bar. Fifty-eight speed settings, which is more than any domestic appliance should legally possess unless it is also capable of flight. Ooni say it can handle up to 5kg of dough in one mix, which is enough to move a man from “making pizza” into “running a small flour-based ministry. ”
The first time I used it, I stood back like a Victorian doctor witnessing electricity.
The bowl turned. The hook descended. The dough did not mix — it submitted. Slowly, calmly, beautifully. Gluten formed like muscle under moonlight. What emerged was smoother, stronger, and more confident than anything I had produced before. It had structure. It had purpose. It looked like it knew where it was going.
For someone who makes a lot of pizza dough, this is not a gadget. It is an escalation. I can now make proper batches without feeling like I’ve entered physical combat with hydration. My dough is more consistent, my process is cleaner, and my kitchen has taken on the quiet atmosphere of a very small Neapolitan engineering facility.
Is it serious? Yes.
Is it overkill for casual bakers? Possibly.
But for those of us who stare into flour and see destiny, the Halo Pro is not excessive.
It is correct.
Ooni haven’t made a mixer.
They’ve built a countertop dough cathedral with a motor in it.
This is some spiral mixer. I am so impressed. I really isn’t as big as I thought it was going to be and it really is such a powerful machine in this gorgeous sleek modern design. I am so so happy with my purchase.
After struggling with a kitchen aid mixer trying to make pizza dough or sourdough. The Ooni tears into the job like a cement mixer. You can’t bog this thing down. And the dough comes out perfect every single time. If you are hesitant about starting baking due to the making dough process do yourself a favor and make this purchase. Better to spend the money and cry once then cry every time you attempt to bake.
The Ooni Pro makes the best dough I have ever created. I’ve been baking bread for several years - mixing by hand / mixing in my KA mixer and combinations of using both. The Ooni surpasses everything.
I have a cottage bakery. I mix a lot of dough. For my large batches I use my large Estella 30qt mixer. For cookie dough I use my 6qt Kitchen Aid mixer. Kitchen Aid sucks for bread, clearly. This marries both of these worlds perfectly. It's great for mixing cookie dough, I prefer it over the Kitchen Aid. The bread dough it makes is gorgeous. I haven't done a friction test on it yet but it the dough does heat up, not bad just have to prepare for it. If I could change one thing it would be make it bigger! Or come out with a bigger model!
