Everything about this mixer is great except for the splash lid. It will not stay up which makes it almost worthless. If the hinge was slightly more forward the lid would have enough of an angle to stay up.
I have two KitchenAid mixers and an Ankarsrum, but none of them develop the gluten in my doughs like this baby. The fact that it’s so stable I can walk away from it as a blessing. The light to see in the bowl? Superb! I took a while to pull the trigger on this purchase because of the aforementioned mixers I already have. Did they do the job? Sure. Do they do it as well or as effortlessly as the Halo? Nope. Zero regrets. Buy one.
I am loving the Ooni Halo Pro Spiral Dough Mixer so far. It makes easy work of lower hydration dough and doesn’t jump around like other mixers I have used. I really like that it is super easy to clean and it also looks great on the counter. I have only done a couple batches of bagels and some pizza dough so far. This weekend we are trying some sourdough bread with it, but I really need to put it to work before I can give a fully honest, tested review, but I am definitely enjoying it a lot more than my now retired KA mixer. It is a workhorse for sure! Fingers crossed that it has as long of a lifecycle as the old KA did.
