Pour over with convenience!

This has been a super surprising addition to my house since I got it, I never really liked batch brew coffee but would make pour overs at home, and ever since I got this it has been giving me the pour over fix while making enough coffee to take with me to work. Super minimalist and matches my other fellow gear as well as other black kitchenware beautifully.

The Swiss Army Knife of Brewers

The machine itself is gorgeous, and it fits right in with our kitchen decor. Getting a great cup of coffee out of it, however, requires a bit of work on the part of the user if none of the built-in profiles fits your tastes. It turns out that there are a LOT of variables - grind size, coffee quantity, water quantity, water temperature, extraction rate - and each of these is important. And aside from a few generalities - "If your coffee is bitter, it's underextracted..." - there is no single definitive roadmap toward your perfect cup of coffee. So the good news is that the Aiden gives you control over virtually every aspect of the process - apart from grind size. That's also the bad news, as there are so many parameters to tweak.
In the end, though, it's worth the effort, as that perfect cup - once you find it - will taste exactly the same, from one brew to the next. And if any of the available profiles meet your requirements, you're way ahead of the game.

Great coffee with a guided setup

Bought this machine for an office environment and love the quality of the coffee and variation of brews available with such a simple intuitive setup. Nice to be able to pivot from a single mug to a 10 cup carafe. I'm expecting new users to be able to produce solid coffee with little to no instruction.

More than what I hoped for!

I had high hopes for this coffee machine, but I love it even more than I thought! Being able to use the guided brewing function not only for "general guidance" (e.g. light, medium, or dark roast), but especially for the amazing coffee roasts sold through Fellow and Fellow Drops, is a game changer. It takes out all the guess work and "trial and error" and just brews the perfect pot of coffee literally with the dial and press of one button. We used to be die-hard Chemex brewers for almost a decade... the Aiden is superior and does it all for you.
It's simple to set up and simple to clean, so I find myself more often than not brewing myself an extra "quick cup of coffee" as a treat in the late morning or early afternoon.
I saw people complaining that the thermos doesn't keep the coffee warm very long; this is no issue for us as we brew the amount we need and fill it right into our Carter Move mugs. I did find that the thermos stains easily (on the inside), but that's merely cosmetic.
The 10 cup capacity is perfect for our household of two, our usual morning brew is 7 cups. Yes, the Aiden is plastic and feels light instead of "heavy duty", but it's still quality material and fits great into our line of Fellow products on our counter.
The price sure feels steep, but I saved up for it and waited until it was on sale. If coffee is your daily special treat and you like trying different roasts and beans, the Aiden is worth every penny. I couldn't be happier.

Invest the time and money

The Aiden is a very sophisticated drip coffee maker. If you take the time to explore the options and connect the Aiden to your network, download the “Fellow Drops” profiles and explore customizing your brew, you can really extract great flavors. It’s easy to clean. It’s a few extra bucks, but a great companion to my pour over setup.
