If you’re on the fence but you love specialty coffee, just get the Aiden

An absolute standout machine. I’ve used to Moccamaster in the past and the Aiden has proven to be a very reliable and capable machine. I was on the fence for awhile given the cost but the machine has not disappointed at all. It’s produced spectacular batches of a very wide variety of coffee, ranging from experimental cofermented washed anaerobics to classic tried and true washed/natural coffees. It’s probably not the best machine for those who just want to set it and forget it, but if you geek out on temperature and brew ratios and extraction curves and want a fun toy to keep up with your caffeine addiction, this is definitely the machine for you.

Is it hype if it's true?

I was cautiously optimistic that Aiden would be both good and easy. It is both, and the quality of the brew is stunning. It really does seem to be equivalent to pour-over, except that it is flawlessly consistent. The default Guided Profiles work well right out of the box, and I haven't felt the need to tinker, but it's not complicated if that's your "style." The Fellow app does work but adds relatively little to the practical use of the product. I imagine that it will get more capable as it matures.

Excellent coffee maker. There is a noticeable difference between your average coffeemaker and Aiden. The bloom feature really separates this machine and its intuitive interface is extremely easy to use. I need to schedule my coffee for the mornings so this machine is the best option in the Fellow lineup.

Coffee newbie

I am trying to learn more about coffee than just using a Keurig. I did a lot of research from some of the top recommended coffee “gurus“ on YouTube. After listening extensively to multiple reviews on several machines, I opted for the Aiden. I’m really glad that I did. The machine makes it exceptionally easy to brew coffee as a newbie. Now that I’ve mastered the guided brew, I’m excited to try to perfect my preferred tastes using all the tweaks the Aidan is capable of. And while I know that aesthetics in the end, don’t have an effect on the taste of the coffee, they are important to me. I live in a small apartment with limited countertop space. The machine fits in perfectly while allowing me to also open the lid for the grounds without needing to pull out the machine each time. Also extremely easy to fill the water reservoir. Overall, it has made my morning coffee experience quick as well as enjoyable. I look forward to waking up everything for that 1st cup of coffee.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Aiden: Worth Every Penny

The Aiden electric coffee make is hyper engineered to create the perfect cup of coffee every time. Even upon first use we noticed a stark difference from our older generic coffee maker. This product is worth every cent!!

Automating my pourovers

Aiden makes it fun to experiment and dial in coffee by taking the labor out of it. I like the idea of roaster profiles and guides but love sharing profiles among the community.

TLDR: if you're on the fence about the Aiden just make the investment and get it.
Yes there are some refinements that could be made.
Yes there are plastic components.
Yes there is no hot plate (energy sucker) but we all have microwaves, get over it.

That being said, i have enjoyed every cup of coffee more with the Fellow Aiden and its only been a week for me.
If you know what this little hot rod can do and you care about the control of the temperature and brewing phases you will not regret using it even without the app.
