Great machine and great coffee…

I received my Aiden in September and I haven’t used any of my other machines since. Makes one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had in a while. The coffee that came with it were great even considering the fact that I don’t really drink lighter roasts, but they were great with the brew profiles. I can’t say enough about this machine and can’t wait until the app is fully developed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Met expectations!

I've used it 3 times since I've gotten it and LOVE IT! I put in the brew recipe with a coffee I got with Fellow Drops and got MUCH better results than what I was doing on my own using my Chemex. I'm genuinely pleased. Beyond the best benefit, taste, I like that the coffee is hotter than what I get in my Chemex (a lot of cool down happens even if I first put hot water in my chemex & mug), and I can make more coffee at once! I look fwd to the promised features like being able to PUSH the brew recipes to the machine vs. having to manually add them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Seeking Coffee Perfection

This is not a coffee maker for everyone. This is for someone who wants to elevate coffee, but doesn't want to do pourover or similar. In return for some ease, there's a loss of some control, but the machine does everything really well. There's much simpler (and cheaper) machines out there, but do they give you this level of control? No. Do they have the chance to upgrade and personalize? No. The potential of the coffee profiles and guides is huge, if Fellow gets roasters to buy in and they get the app to a usable point. I'm knocking a point off my review here (Nov '24) because not everything works as promised, but the potential is all still there and it's good as-is. Just ask yourself - how serious am I about coffee?

Almost perfect; too much plastic

I’ve only had my Aiden for a week now but I’m genuinely grateful to have a coffee maker that is dialed into the details to make a great cup (or pot) of coffee without the manual attention pour over requires. Although it’s not perfect. The app is a joke in its current state. Really it shouldn’t have been released yet because there’s no reason or usefulness in it today. I am hopeful for its promising future state. Biggest miss to me is the excessive plastic - the putter housing is one thing but I’m specifically concerned about the components that come in contact with near boiling temperatures. Brewing through plastic - especially at this price point - is a real oversight to me. I think you can do better Fellow!

Great coffee, minor nitpicks

Great coffee, indistinguishable from my V60 pour over during tasting. Standard filter sizing is nice.
Carafe looses heat quickly once brewed. Swapping to a double wall vacuum insulated Carafe would be a large quality of life improvement.
App is barebones and not worth installing giving current (lack of) features. Perhaps more functionality will be added over time
Documentation shipped with product is minimal, be prepared to navigate the website and watch several short YouTube videos instead of thumbing through a product manual

Really Good, Though Not Perfect

I've had the Aiden for almost two weeks, so I am now familiar enough with it to write a review. Let me preface this with I'm pretty fussy about my coffee. I roast my own beans just to the start of the second crack, so it's not a light roast, but not so dark that oil appears on the beans. I have a particular pour over method that works for me. My goal was to replicate the same cup of coffee using the Aiden. Short answer: it's a success.
1. By creating my own profile and using a slightly coarser grind, I get a very good cup of coffee. That's the most important thing. Specifically, it's great being able to set the temperature, the bloom time, and the number of pulses and intervals between them.
2. The Aiden uses an adjustable ratio of coffee to water to calculate the amount of coffee to add depending on the number of cups you want, so you don't have to recalculate if you change the number of cups. That's pretty helpful.
3. The carafe is great. It keeps my coffee hot without using a heating element.
4. The machine looks good and actually frees up counter space by replacing my pour-over set up and kettle with one appliance.
5. I like the water reservoir on the side. It's easy to access and fill at the sink. Also, being on the side, it's easier to see when it needs to be refilled.

So I do recommend this machine - it does what it says and does it well. HOWEVER, it's not perfect:
1. The lack of features in the app are well documented and make it useless right now, so I won't belabor that. 2. There is a problem with the custom profile I created. I specified 4 pulses in batch mode. It worked initially, but the second time I used the profile, it had reset the number of pulses to 1. I now have to check it each time and reset it to 4. Apparently Fellow is aware of the issue (I hope) and will be fixing it (I hope).
3. The lowest ratio of coffee to water that I was able to set was 1:14. I like it a bit stronger, so I have to slightly increase the recommended amount of coffee.
3. The single brew mode (which uses a cone filter) maxes out at 3 "cups" which is really about 1 ½ good sized cups. With more than 3 "cups" you have to use the batch flat bottomed basket. I really prefer the cone filter holder and filters, so I wish Fellow would allow single brew mode to go up to 4 or 4 ½ "cups" (2 real cups).

The problems are not insurmountable (and are hopefully temporary), so, if you're thinking of getting the Aiden, I say go for it.

Very happy husband

My husband is obsessed. I’ve never seen him love a gift so much. He’s very impressed with the quality and ingenuity in the design. I used to enjoy his pour overs each morning but now we get to enjoy an amazing brew together.
