Finally a good one!

This is not only a good looking brewer but one that also produces interesting results! Easy to setup and maintain. I love the idea of getting templates on how the roaster thought those coffee should be prepared. The menu is nice, although round screen is not always followed with round type of design. More of a nit than actual complaint. The only con that I noticed is that it the carafe is not holding heat really well. I am comparing to Breville Precision Brewer, which may be why I have such high expectations for keeping my coffee hot. Otherwise I really love it!

Best Fellow Purchase to Date!

When I saw that Fellow was releasing a new "Pour Over" style countertop home brewer I knew I needed to try it out. The sleek design and programmable functions seemed to be game changers for the morning ritual. I am very glad that I got in on the first wave of orders and really appreciate the coffee samples that arrived with my order pre-programmed in the machine. Though I thought that the Aiden would be a bit sturdier (it is made from some light materials) it has held up well over the first couple of months. The main thing is that it makes a great pot (or cup) of coffee that even my 9 year old has learned to make for the family by following the guided brew cycle. I still need to play around with some of the settings, but out of the box it has been not only an easy learning curve; but also makes a great pour over!

Like having a professional barista at home.

Hands down the best automatic brewing device I have purchased. I have worked in specialty cafes for years, and this lil' countertop brewer keeps up with (and usually outperforms) most commercial batch brewers. I am able to consistently brew pourover-style cups while eliminating some of the annoying variables that come with brewing manually. I give it a 5/5, although I wish it was made with a bit more metal in some places rather than plastic. Would love some metal brew basket options as well for less plastic exposure.

it makes great coffee

I have nothing but good to say about the coffee this machine makes. It's great, slightly different than my own pour over but equally good. I had my doubts it could be done. I've had other coffee makers and never liked any of them, not even the Chemex makes good coffee. This does. It looks great too. So why not 5 starts, well I'm a little bummed with the whole thing is basically made of plastic and feels cheap and light. I thought it would be bomb proof and heavy duty like the grinders and all other fellow products I've seen in real life. It looks very cool but when you touch it, it's cheap feeling. It's expensive and I didn't expect light and thin plastic. I would have paid a little more to have it be heavy and nice. I don't like cheap plastic stuff on my counter if I can help it. It doesn't feel like something that will last but for now it's at leas making great coffee

Tremendous Brew -- Easy to Use!

Happy with this purchase -- same quality you expect from other Fellow products. Very thoughtful and does what it says it does. I must say the extraction levels will knock your socks off if you're used to using mr coffee or ninja. Ease into it! Haven't tried the app, but don't really need it. Only product improvement feedback would be to make it bigger, as the 10 "cups" for a full carafe are based on 5 oz portions, so it's really only 4-5 mugs. A 12 cup/60oz version would be more suitable for large groups and make it comparable to regular coffee makers.

Approaching perfection

Got this to replace our Cafe brewer because its display started malfunctioning just after the warranty ran out (also, after 12 months of use, it no longer looked so premium: turns out the metallic highlights are painted plastic). It makes absolutely fantastic coffee. I mean the Cafe brewer does a lot better than many machines, but it's not even in the same league as the Aiden.
There are a few minor issues that together lead me to deduct a star:
1. The markings on the water reservoir are virtually unreadable and it's difficult to see the water level, too. Reservoir should be clear with bright white markings, which should be about 50% larger. Wouldn't hurt to have a light in the reservoir like some of the Keurigs have (if I'm allowed to say the K-word here). I have resorted to keeping a flashlight next to the brewer, which is absurd.
2. Occasionally the brewer complains that there is no water. Reseating the reservoir fixes it. Last time it happened, that didn't clear the problem, which key happening, and I had to fiddle with the valve on the bottom of the reservoir to resolve it. Will keep an eye on this.
3. The brewing guidance, which recommends the amount of coffee to use, results in very strong coffee. Of course you can ignore the Aiden's recommendation if you want, but it'd be nice to have a "how strong do you like it" setting to attenuate this. In Fellow's defense, their recommendation does really bring out all the flavors latent in the coffee. Our KitchenAid grinder's output, which is based on the number of cups you tell it you're brewing, is more in line with the intensity we prefer, so we'll just use that. The Aiden wants you to use about 50% more grounds by weight.
4. The app needs a notification when a brew cycle is done. I found that really useful with the Cafe brewer and it seems like the first and most obvious feature you'd put on an app, but it's not there.
On the plus side, this thing really is masterfully designed. I dont need to pull it out from under the cabinet to fill the water reservoir or to load the grounds, and there is no steam coming out of the top when brewing (we resorted to putting a folded tea towel on top of our previous brewers to prevent steam from ruining the bottom of the cabinet). Even the carafe is smartly made, maximizing volume by using a cylindrical shape, which also makes it easy to pour compared to the odd shapes used in other brewers, and easy to clean too. The knob for removing the lid is also where the brewed coffee goes in and is shaped to raise the output valve in the brewer when the carafe is in place. Three functions in one little bit of plastic! Now if the brewer could just stop brewing when the carafe overflows because some idiot (me) forgot to empty out yesterday's dregs... in my defense, I hadn't had my coffee yet!
I nitpick because the Aiden is so great, I can't really find anything significant to complain about.

Was skeptical going into this, but I needed a new coffee maker. Boy, was I wrong. The Aiden makes great coffee and, paired with ain Opus grinder, is simple and clean to use. Highly recommend.
