Great at making coffee but hard to work with (nor now at least)

Makes great coffee! The only issue is with the software. The app is really buggy and pretty useless right now. I keep adding the device and it keeps disappearing on iOS and Android. There is an interface lag when interacting with the machine when it's connected to WiFi.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the coffee pot. Hate the app.
Aiden does what it promised, but the app doesn’t work. You have to program everything on the device itself.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So much potential

The pros. First and foremost, the taste quality of the pour over is great. I have tested with beans I am familiar with and the output is amazing. Having this quality brewed on schedule is very convenient. The cons. The lid of the water reservoir is awkward and small making it hard to clean and refill. The carafe doesn’t keep the coffee warm. I transfer the coffee into a Hario carafe to keep it warm. Have a bigger screen. So much information on a small screen is hard to see. The app doesn’t work. Can’t program the coffee on your phone and then transfer it to the maker. It would be nice to have grind settings if you have an Ode. I hope they improve the app and software, provide a sealed lid for the carafe and improve the lid to the water reservoir.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing coffee!

We are amazed how good our coffee tastes with the Aiden coffee maker. We've been using the pour-over method for many years and decided to try Aiden. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because I'm not sure how long the plastic pieces will last.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Aiden dissapoints

We were very excited to receive our Aiden after preordering in May. Sadly, after receiving it, we were disappointed several aspects. First, and foremost, is the flavor of the pour over on a timed schedule. The flavor just isn’t the same. This is mostly due to grinding the beans the night before and losing that “just ground” taste. Second, the measurement for dispensing the coffee is in cups. I like a 300 ml pour, my wife prefers a 250. The Aiden uses 5 oz cup measurement. This required a little more work on our part. Finally, it comes down to the software and usability of the interface and app. Both need work. They are over simplified which actually meant it taking even more work to get it to do what it was advertised to do.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We recommend changing the machine’s settings if you want more precise measurements for your pours (Settings>units>precise units (check) >type >metric units). We will be providing more information and how-to videos in the future on adjusting certain aspects to ensure that they align with your needs for the machine. You can change the machine’s internal settings to display more detailed information, such as the mL of water, rather than showing cups. Machine great, no app bad

Machine is great, my wife loves the functionality of single serve. However, we expected a connected coffee maker with a fully functioning app. Very disappointing as an early adopter !

Ignore the haters

I think people love to hate on Fellow, mostly because they're pushing the envelope and elevating the status of nice coffee appliances that don't look terrible. I was one of the early April pre-orders, so yes, waiting 6-months for a product certainly creates an expectation. Outside of the app not working on launch (which like, cmon, you don't need an app to brew coffee) the Aiden show up on time and has been exactly as described. I've been doing a Hario pour-over (along with chemex, etc.) for 10+ years and I truthfully can't find a quality difference in the Aiden's brew. This thing is loaded with customizations for brewing which truly allows you to brew based on your personal taste preference. From a design standpoint, the exterior is primarily plastic and there is one area on my brewer that isn't flush with the rest, but I don't know, I'm here to make coffee not look for a the finest of flaws. If you want the best tasting coffee in the world, don't buy a drip/single cup brewer, but if you want something that's pretty darn close, go for the Aiden. I truly don't think you're going to find a better brewer at this price point.
