Beautiful, but….

This machine made excellent coffee, until it didn’t. The ´add water’, light kept popping on, even though there was already water in the container. I tried to get in contact with Fellow to troubleshoot, but the form I was expected to complete, (just to have them contact me), was ridiculous; FRW number?! Way too much trouble, so I just returned it. Too bad because I REALLY wanted to like this machine, it’s beautiful.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Really great coffee maker. Four stars because I don't understand why it has an app if I can't tell the coffee maker to start a brew from the app.

Too much plastic, need metal filter option

A gift for my husband, and he says it makes fantastic coffee! Unfortunately a major disappointment for us is that Fellow has used so much plastic that the hot water and coffee comes into contact with. We try to minimize the amount of plastic that comes into contact with our food. We would love if Fellow would give a metal filter option rather than having to put a paper filter over the plastic. A coffee maker this expensive should have this option. We just swapped from the Ratio to the Aiden, and the Ratio does give this option for a metal filter. This lack of option is a major drawback, and had I realized beforehand I probably would have chosen something else.

Worth it

There's a lot of great options for coffee makers out there, but if I'm being honest, I wanted something that could get the job done and look good doing it. The Aiden checks both of those boxes.
If you've been researching this product and checking out the YouTube reviews, then you'll know there is a common criticism about the build quality of the hinges. In my experience, this product seems in line with the quality of other Fellow products. I think what stands out is this is one that has you interact with different parts unlike some that just have one part that you move. I think most people won't mind the product of this quality.
The coffee tastes great, and the cold brew function is a cool touch. I was a bit reluctant to use the app since it felt a bit redundant seeing that you can make and edit profiles from the machine itself, but I must admit that I have caught myself using it and appreciating the simplicity of using my phone to make these changes. Getting the firmware updates is easy, and there's been very few frustrations with the whole experience since getting it.
On a cleaning note, you do gotta wipe the shower head and keep the basket area dry after a brew. It doesn't really clean itself or drain into the empty carafe. However, I think part of having nice things and keeping them nice is maintenance, so it's not that big of a deal.
TL;DR: It brews good and looks good. Read the manuals.

A mess to take care of

I’ve had the Aiden for a week. Each day since opening it I’ve brewed 2-3 pots of coffee through it in batch mode. I’m brewing 1300ml of coffee with a range of 1:16 to 1:17 ratio. I’ve played with using the pulse feature and going with 2-3 pulses per brew cycle.
The coffee tastes good that comes out… when there aren’t grounds coming through the filter basket into the pot. Aiden is a mess to clean up between brews. I’m using 70-75 grams of ground coffee per batch. Grinds are constantly flushed over the edges of the filter and splashed onto the shower head above.
User error? Only if following guidelines is the wrong thing to do.
I’m likely going to return mine asap and go back to pour overs for batch brewing. I wanted this for doing larger brews when family visits so I don’t have to stand around making pot after pot of coffee. Now I have to stand around cleaning Aiden, instead.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not the rockstar it was billed to be

This is OK - two annoying things: no way to tell how much coffee is left in the carafe. The carafe does not keep the coffee very hot for long .....it needs more insulation or a heat element

Wonderful single cup coffee

So far it’s great. Had to switch from americanos to drip because my cholesterol numbers were creeping up. Plus my prep time in the morning delayed my commute. The coffee this machine makes rivals my americanos and way less prep time. It makes a very good full body single cup which is all I wanted it to do. I started using it by prepping the coffee the night before. But I can taste the difference when I grind in the mornings so I’m back to morning prep but it’s way less time.
I would recommend this to a friend!
