Almost amazing

This coffee maker is great - it makes consistently awesome coffee. My morning routine has vastly improved. I initially wasn’t sure I wanted this coffee maker, because it is expensive, and I am ultimately glad I bought it. I got to use one at a friend’s house so that helped. I was making pour overs myself, and kept getting distracted partway through the process. The machine does not get distracted, so things ultimately are higher quality.
I will say - I do not love the UI. I wish that Fellow had included a back button, instead of relying only on the wheel. The screen is obviously a square screen with a circular aperture on top of it, which feels quite lazy. The water tank is a weird shape, and has a handle that protrudes into the opening at the top which makes it awkward when pouring in water.
Hopefully Fellow takes these things into consideration on the next version. I would say I am a lazy user, not a power user, so I have found them workable for the time being.

Great machine some flaws

We've been using this coffee machine for a little over a month. I have one major complaint which has me considering getting rid of it. The brew basket is too small, see the attached picture. The basket and space above is undersized for the volume of coffee that the brewer needs to make full pots of coffee. When using >60g of coffee the coffee rises above the filter and even gets on the brew head. This isn't day old fresh coffee, but closer to two week old coffee from our local roaster. When following the "guided brew" instructions for full (10 cups) pots of light roast which asks for >80g of coffee the machine is left a mess and coffee flowing over the filter (size spec'd by fellow) resulting in coffee grounds in our brew. This feels like an oversight that should have been caught early in testing.
Otherwise, the machine works wonderfully. It's just messy and gets grounds in my coffee. I'm looking for alternate filters that go higher in the basket to help with the latter.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No heating element under coffee pot

I can only say it makes good coffee but there is no heating element so it’s either one cup at a time or you’ll have to microwave old coffee. Defeats the proof a coffee maker. Waste of money. Very misleading Fellow peeps.

I was expecting so much more …

I was expecting so much more. Don’t get me wrong, the brew is really really good! As a die hard pour over enthusiast, I sincerely appreciate the flavors this thing delivers. And the metal Carafe is superb. But I’m more than a little disappointed on how much plastic there is … the top lid is flimsy and the hinges are awful. Mine gets stuck opening the filter lid. Oh, and there’s no spring stopper valve on the filter so you absolutely have to wait until the brew cycle is done or you’ll flood your counter. Even if it says, waiting for last drips, don’t pull out the carafe. And why do I have to hit the button multiple times on the menu when it’s already showing “instant brew”? Shouldn’t one press start brewing?

I Love You Fellow, but NOT This Coffee Maker

I see the potential in this coffee maker, but don’t buy it now. I’ll be returning mine asap. The software to operate this coffee maker does not work correctly. It doesn’t keep the correct time, which means you can’t preset your coffee to be made the night before. Also, I created multiple brew profiles, and the next day they were all gone. Lastly, the app is completely useless. Sorry Fellow, I love your products, but this coffee maker isn’t quite ready to be released yet.

Brilliant, cannot fault it!

I’m new to pour over, have been using an espresso machine for 5 years and recently got the itch to try something new after sampling some new beans at Drip! in NYC. Now I’m fully down the rabbit hole of light roasts and recipes and Aiden is the perfect companion. I’ve had 98% tasty cups, ease of brewing and quality of the cup stand out.

Design and engineering triumph. But don't let the marketing hype set some unrealistic expectations.

This is a well engineered product with a delightfully minimalist design by coffee nerds, for coffee nerds. You get the convenience without falling below the coffee nerd minimum expectations of quality. It is a good deal for its price. Though I don't think it's revolutionary, or some kind of leap forward when it comes to residential batch brewers. It edges the competition in quality of brew, and tweakability. That's good, and enough.
I don't know why Fellow is doubling down with the marketing narrative of even professionals (baristas, roasters) cannot tell apart an Aiden brew from pour over. This is simply not the case. Over the 3 weeks of my ownership, I never managed to get a satisfactory "clean cup" from Aiden, where it's easily achievable, with all three gift beans that came with the machine. What you get is equivalent to a really good batch brew from a coffee shop that really cares. This alone puts Aiden above everything I tried so far and I can be happy with it.
