Machine Beats Man

I'm in love with this thing. Having pour-over quality coffee with an automatic machine is a new experience for me and a welcome one. I love making pourovers but I'm not very good at it, and sometimes waking up in the morning it's not something I want to do, but I've grown to love quality coffee enough that I couldn't do a normal drip machine. I am pleased to say that not only does this make great coffee similar to pourovers, but it does a better job than I can do on my own 🤣
Overall I'm extremely pleased with the control options, the guidance through how much coffee to add, and the overall build of the machine. I will be curious to see how well it is built to last - the lid on top can slam shut if you aren't careful, which I am, and there is a lot of plastic, though it feels well-built and sturdy. I would hope to get at least 10 years out of this machine at this price point, but only time will tell!!
If you love pour-over quality coffee without the work, this is for you :)

Like a Chemex...but better

I preordered the Aiden in May and it arrived mid-September. I was hesitant to get a coffee pot after a decade+ making pourover coffee at home, but enticed by the hands-off approach to brewing (while still having customizable brewing profiles) that the Aiden offers. I've used it four times now and am REALLY impressed. The beans I got with the preorder are all unique and the custom profiles pull out complex flavors just like a Chemex would. I am so happy to have the Aiden as my daily coffee driver!!!

Best Machine Brewed Coffee I've Ever Had

If you love pourovers but can't find the time to make them, this coffee maker is exactly what you need. Not only does it look amazing (an underrated feature in a market filled with ugly machines), the first time I tried it was honestly blown away with the coffee quality and I've had a lot of really good coffee before. The different brew options are awesome, I love being able to brew a single cup directly into my mug or a whole pot depending on what I need and the machine is smart enough to know which filter basket you have in and which you need to use so you can't really mess it up.
If I had to ding it for anything I would say that I wish it could tell if the carafe lid was on because I accidentally tried brewing a batch without the lid on the carafe and it did not end well. Honestly I wish the larger basket didnt have a spring loaded bottom and would just drip through like the smaller one does, but that's a personal preference since I never remove the carafe mid-brew. The app also wasn't working when I tried it but I'm sure it just wasn't ready yet and will work after being updated (it's not necessary anyway for me at least)
If you're the type of person who regularly gets freshly roasted coffee, grinds it at home, and loves pourovers, you will absolutely love this thing.

Near Perfect

Overall Fellow gets right the most important parts and that is the quality of the coffee in my cup and the ease of use/clean up. I think this is a great machine that brews a fantastic pot that is on par with a pour over and has an intuitive, easy to use menu system.
My dislikes are 1) the knob/button which seems to have a very small amount of lag and some response issues in certain fast pace use cases and 2) the coffee pot cools a bit faster then I would like.
Definitely not deal killers, but I am deducting a star.
At the time of this review the app did not have any features so I am looking forward to seeing what that brings in the future.
Likes:
- Coffee quality. I tried some of my own beans and the guided profiles with the beans that came with my pre order. Fantastic cup quality in all my tests and is on par with a pour over.
- Easy to use and intuitive menu makes it usable by anyone in the house. Selecting the brew profile is super simple and the guided steps are extremely easy to follow. Color coded baskets and water drip switch are very simple to interpret and manage.
- Water tank is easily removable with very limited space so no moving stuff around.
- Easy to clean. The inserts are easy to remove and the pot has a huge lid making cleaning very easy
- Fit and finish. The machine is much lighter than I expected but seems to be well built. It looks great and has a great feel to it.

Dislike:
- Coffee pot. It has a great fit and finish but I wish it stayed hotter for longer. Unclear if it’s due to the spout and hole in the lid allowing heat to escape too quickly or a lack of insolation. On a 600ml brew you probably won’t be happy with the temp if you leave it sitting for over 1.5 hours. I drink 2 300ml cups and am a slow sipper so my second cup, boarder line, needs to be warmed up.

- Dial response. I love the feel and mechanical feedback but there absolutely seems to be a small lag in the response with the machine and if you are turning it too quickly the machine won’t register the full turn. It’s not a huge issue perse but it is an annoyance forcing you to slow down. Where I notice it is when I am scrolling through multiple options quickly (think scrolling to access the back button or trying to scroll to the bottom of a list quickly). These are regular use cases so you likely will encounter it once you learn the menus and work flow.
For those of you with the kettle you probably are familiar with what I am talking about since it seems like it’s the same mechanics used in the Fellow kettle knob. What appears to have been improved is the responsiveness of the push button on the dial, where in my experience so far, it always registers the click.

Great Machine

Overall, I am so excited to have my Aiden Brewer. It has not disappointed both in design and functionality. I’ve been able to yield the best drip coffee cups and really love how intuitive this machine is. The only reason I cannot give hit a five is the app is still not functional as of yet and eagerly awaiting for to be availble to unlock this machines full potential!.

Great quality brew!

I pre-ordered an Aiden coffee maker months ago and was very excited to receive and try it out. I have been making pour over coffee for years using fellow products and loved the idea of using a coffee maker to experience the same results as a pour over, in addition to being able to make a full pot. After playing with the settings and grind I have found my perfect cup. I love this coffee maker. I am also looking forward to being able to use the app and try other settings. The one touch setting is great to be able to customize and make it very simple for others in the house to use. The only point I would make is that the pot does not keep
The coffee hot for very long at all. I have even heated up the pot prior to brewing and it still doesn’t keep coffee hot. Doesn’t matter too much to me because we usually drink our coffee right away, but just be aware.
