Almost perfect

This tv has the best picture of any tv currently in the market. Operating system is on the other hand not very good.

My Review of the LG 83” OLED G5

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I live in a studio apartment in NYC, which means every square foot matters. Buying an 83-inch TV sounded like a ridiculous idea… until I turned this thing on. Now it feels like the smartest purchase I’ve made in years.
This G5 basically transformed my whole apartment. It’s literally one giant wall of picture. Movies look insane — like I’m sitting in a private IMAX that just happens to be attached to my kitchen. The colors, the brightness, the detail… it’s on another level. Even during the day with sunlight blasting in, the screen still looks perfect. My old OLED couldn’t do that.
Gaming? Forget it. The PS5 on this TV is stupid good. Zero lag, everything feels buttery smooth, and the size just pulls you into the game. It’s honestly a little addicting.
The design is another big win. Since it sits flat against the wall, it doesn’t make my place feel cluttered. That mattered a lot for a studio — it actually makes the room look bigger, not smaller.
Sound is okay, but I added a soundbar because if you’re going this big, you might as well go all in.
If you’re in a small apartment and debating whether an 83-inch TV is “too much,” trust me — it’s not. It’s the best kind of overkill.

Awesome picture!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this as an upgrade to a 65 inch CX OLED. The picture is brighter and sharper in HDR mode and has been awesome so far with movies and gaming. The tv speakers are ok, but I pair with a surround sound system. The remote doesn’t have an input button, so switching between inputs is a little clunky. Minor inconvenience for the overall viewing quality.

Great Gaming and Streaming

This is my 3rd LG TV, C2 then G4 and now the G5. Going from the C to G's was a great upgrade. I used these mainly for gaming with PC, Xbox and PS5, however the new G5 65" is an awesome streaming TV especially for YouTube and all the popular streaming apps. The Gaming is extremely good, the Refresh rate makes such a big difference, so smooth. I don't even use monitors anymore. This was on sale for Black Friday which caused me to buy it right then. Awesome TV.

Thermal cracking and popping noises

Don’t buy an LG TV. The devices make thermal cracking and popping noises during operation, and LG won’t help you!

Awesome TV with one issue

After months of waiting for my G5, I finally received it, and it is the best TV picture I have seen from any TV that I have looked at. I have no complaints about the picture quality. I did purchase the soundbar SC9. For the first month, the sound worked fine. I was happy with it. Then one day after an update that took place at night while the TV was off, I found that when I turn on the TV, the sound is now automatically at 100%, and I have to scramble to get it turned down. After watching TV and then shutting it off when I come back later to watch TV again, 75% of the time, the sound is once again at 100%, except one time it was at 0%. I have done nothing different to create this problem. I feel after that update, the soundbar and TV audio isn't acting as it did when I first unboxed the TV. I have looked at all the TV and soundbar settings and have tried making some changes, but all that I have tried has done nothing to solve the problem. This is the reason for the four stars. The audio is acting up, and I have not been able to correct it. Hopefully, LG will look into what would otherwise be a fantastic TV. I am thinking of buying the C5 in a 55”, but wondering if I want to wait until the audio is fixed.
