A Worthy Upgrade Over the LG G2

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently upgraded from an LG G2 77" to the new G5 83", and the experience has been outstanding. Even though it’s a larger 83" model, it turned out to be the perfect size for my space. I didn’t even have to move the existing wall mount — it fit right in, which made the transition incredibly easy.
In terms of performance, the improvement is immediately noticeable. The colors are more vivid and lifelike, and the boost in peak brightness is significant. Everything just looks better — movies, games, even everyday content. The G5 feels like a meaningful leap forward, not just a minor refresh.
The only downside had nothing to do with the TV itself. The “free installation” through Angi was a letdown; they rescheduled multiple times and never followed through. I ended up installing it myself, which wasn’t ideal but got the job done.
Overall, the G5 83 Inch is a fantastic product and a clear step up from the G2. If you’re considering upgrading, this model is absolutely worth it.

Incredible TV, an upgrade to my older OLED

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased this as an upgrade to my 77" 2019 LG OLED C9 - and wow - this TV has shown how much OLEDs have improved over the past 6 years.
Brightness - this in HDR is out of this world, the contrast between the black and the display is incredible. And having been using an LG OLED for a while, I'm used to the excellent contrast
Movies - the Dolby Vision capabilities along with HDR have been excellent, re-watching some of the IMAX movies I've seen have been super enjoyable
Sports - watching some Thursday night football from Amazon in 4k - chef's kiss - we could see every blade of grass on the field and the motion was super fluid, there is no comparison
Gaming - having proper VRR and 120hz gaming is so nice, the PS5 shines on this gaming experience
Overall this has been a wonderful upgrade into the current generation of OLEDs and I will continue to use LG OLEDs (I have 3 now!) as my primary TVs for movie, sports, and gaming

My Review of the LG 83” OLED G5

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I live in a studio apartment in NYC, which means every square foot matters. Buying an 83-inch TV sounded like a ridiculous idea… until I turned this thing on. Now it feels like the smartest purchase I’ve made in years.
This G5 basically transformed my whole apartment. It’s literally one giant wall of picture. Movies look insane — like I’m sitting in a private IMAX that just happens to be attached to my kitchen. The colors, the brightness, the detail… it’s on another level. Even during the day with sunlight blasting in, the screen still looks perfect. My old OLED couldn’t do that.
Gaming? Forget it. The PS5 on this TV is stupid good. Zero lag, everything feels buttery smooth, and the size just pulls you into the game. It’s honestly a little addicting.
The design is another big win. Since it sits flat against the wall, it doesn’t make my place feel cluttered. That mattered a lot for a studio — it actually makes the room look bigger, not smaller.
Sound is okay, but I added a soundbar because if you’re going this big, you might as well go all in.
If you’re in a small apartment and debating whether an 83-inch TV is “too much,” trust me — it’s not. It’s the best kind of overkill.

Awesome picture!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this as an upgrade to a 65 inch CX OLED. The picture is brighter and sharper in HDR mode and has been awesome so far with movies and gaming. The tv speakers are ok, but I pair with a surround sound system. The remote doesn’t have an input button, so switching between inputs is a little clunky. Minor inconvenience for the overall viewing quality.
