I have been a long time owner of Cuisinart Grind & Brew coffee makers. I absolutely loved my DGB-900BC. Sure it had some occasional grinder blocked up issues, but if you kept it reasonable clean, it made consistently great coffee. My first DGB-800 was a disaster from the start, but turned out to be defective out of the box. I struggled with coffee all over the counter top, frequent cleaning cycled that never really finished, clock that gained several minuted every day, and finally repeated grind cycles that never brewed any coffee. I could only brew in the pre-ground mode. Customer Service was very helpful and promptly replacing the unit with one that is working much better, but still keeps terrible time. The carafe does periodically dribble on the counter on the first cup poured in the morning, but other than that is makes OK coffee. If I set the grind setting to 12 with a full pot of water, it seems to grind way too much coffee and has water and grounds all over. By reducing grind to 6 or 8 I get a pretty consistent, messless, operation with few grinds in the bottom of the pot. While I was initially impressed with the several improvements with this newer model, I do have concerns about grinder cleaning in the long term as there is no apparent way to access the grinder mechanism. The descaling clean cycle seems to work well, but I think its asking to be cleaned too often, considering I have a water softener removing minerals from the water.

A little loud especially if you have house guests with rooms in close proximity of the kitchen. But I absolutely love this coffee maker. There is nothing like fresh ground coffee!

This time the coffeemaker worked! 2 other machines needed to be sent back. I trusted Cuisinart so kept trying to correct the problem with programming. This one listens to the commands.

Efficient and convenient but not high quality materials. Too much plastic. The bean caddy for the grinder is too small (IMHO). The carafe should be insulated rather than thin glass. Not worth the investment. Should have stuck with my old percolator or Bialetti Moka.

This coffee maker had all the features we were looking for in a replacement coffee maker. Unfortunately, it fell short. The things we found disappointing were. 1: it grinder a full basket of beans when only 4 cups were selected. 2: it overflowed during brewing on 2 to 3 occasions within the first week of owning the coffee maker.

This coffee maker uses a tremendous amount of beans to brew a weak pot of coffee, even when set on strongest strength. The burr grinds the coffee very chunky (probably so it doesn't clog up the system) but because of this, it needs to grind a lot more to make a kind of weak pot of coffee. There is no option to adjust the grind.

The clock does not maintain time. The clock jumps ahead 2 minutes every 24 hour period. The replacement machine had the exact same problem. Cuisinart has a quality control issue.
