Terrible. Returned it and got a refund. It leaked all over the place the first time I used it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have been using the Burr Grind & Brew coffee maker for a little over 2 weeks now and we are very pleased with it. After purchasing a similar model in another brand and returning it, we decided to try this Cuisinart, and we are very please with that decision! The controls make it very easy to use. The basket that holds the ground coffee catches the grounds nicely and is easy to remove and clean. One review I read didn't like the fact that the lid for the carafe isn't hinged, but I find that I really like the way the lid attaches. When a lid is hinged, I'm always concerned I'm going to break it off when I'm cleaning the pot. This one is easy to remove yet attaches securely. That is a definite plus for me! The burr grinder does a very nice job of grinding the beans to support whatever cup quantity we choose (4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 cups). At first I was disappointed that I couldn't change the texture of the grind, but in doing my research I realize that the texture used in this model is the best for the drip process which is what this coffee maker uses. Why would I want to change that?! You can also choose it to make your coffee mild, medium or strong and it will grind the quantity to match that as well. The hopper is easy to fill, feeds nicely, and the lid fits securely to keep unwanted air away from the beans. We traditionally brew only 4 cups daily which is perfect for filling one of the normal sized mugs most folks use these days with a little to spare for a warm-up, and we brew our coffee "strong." With that, I usually only have to fill the hopper about every 3 days. We highly recommend the Burr Grind and Brew!!
