This machine grinds WAY too much coffee for the number of cups programmed, even on the lowest "strength" setting. Even when set for four cups, the machine fills a paper filter about 3/4 full with ground coffee. We are still searching for the right combination of settings and water volume. But it's frustrating that the machine can't just grind the right amount. Carafe also leaks upon pouring.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pot poorly designed, leaks when pouring !

You start with 12 cups of water. The pot leaks a cup of water as you pour it into the machine. After brewing, the pot leaks another cup of coffee all over the counter...not so great for granite! So you have 10 cups, not enough for the the family, and a mess.
Other than that, the coffee is good, and the bean hopper functions well.

Carafe issues

Is there a better carafe for this machine? We pour slowly, and still leaks onto the countertop...appears this is an issue for others. Please advise if there is a carafe that has corrected the poor function to pouring a cup of coffee. We paid good money for this unit- its a shame the carafe is the issue.

I am somewhat disappointed in this coffee maker. I have purchased this same product over many years. The materials in this new coffee maker seem much cheaper. The grinder is very rough and very loud. I have many Cuisinart products. I will not purchase this one again.
