Sadly, after about 10 years, our burr and grind coffee maker started having problems. We were quite bummed that our model was no longer being made, and the price had appreciated significantly. Well, we bit the bullet and ended up upgrading with the new model. The grinding is slightly less loud, but the entire grinding/brewing array is much easier to use and clean. The quality of the coffee continues to be excellent. Our one ‘regret’ is that the new model doesn’t come with a 12-cup stainless carafe. We truly enjoyed that feature, even if pouring from it was a pain.

I absolutely love the convenience of grinding and brewing in the same appliance, and being able to select the cup size of the brew. The only reason for 4 stars is for the fact that you cannot fill the reservoir for multiple brews. You can only fill it with the amount you intend to brew at that instance. Each morning, you have to add water.

You cannot control the temperature of the coffee after it is brewed and it is much hotter than expected. In addition, the grounds of the coffee do not fully make it into the grounds holder and spill onto the heating pan. Overall it is okay but not worth the cost.

Can’t make anything smaller than 8 cups which I make using the 4 cup setting and least strength. Going through beans much faster than my old grind and brew model. Not happy with this one at all.

I had the previous model for many years and when it finally gave up the ghost (leaking for some reason when it made coffee), I wanted the same coffee machine. Of course it had been "updated" and we have had a problem getting the carafe seated correctly under the filter basket so that it doesn't miss the hole in the lid of the carafe and leak when coffee is brewing. Seems the hot plate was made larger but there is ring that the carafe needs to be positioned in. This is very far back on the hot plate and a bit difficult to get the carafe set into correctly. Our guests who are not familiar with this requirement have had their coffee spill out and all over the counter, down the cabinets and onto the floor, often wasting at least 1/2 pot of brewed coffee.

This is the 4th Cuisinart Burr Grind & Brew that we have purchased. The first one, almost 20 years ago, was Excellent, so about 5 years later we replace it with a new one. I was better than the first! The third one was better than the second! And this one is way better than the third! I do not see how they could make this any better, but my guess is that in 5 years it will be and we will buy another one!
