Easy to use and clean. Makes good coffee whether already ground onin bean form. The first time the grinder turns on by the programmed feature, you might get startled, but you get used to that quickly.

I have had this coffeemaker for years, however. I have always had to replace it just before the warranty ran out and Cuisinart always was happy to replace it.

Extremely noisy; sounds like a jet engine starting up. Much leakage of coffee and grounds everywhere inside the machine. If the leakage isn't cleaned up, the grinder unit will stick in its housing. The carafe is so curved near the top that it is difficult to extract all the coffee and at maximum tilt the coffee spills from the top, not just the spout. The coffee is quite good...but no better than the grinding brewer (with glass carafe and burner plate) I previously used. I have many Cuisinart products and am pleased with all of them except this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have had several Cuisinart Coffeemakers over the years. I like the ones with the stainless steel carafes much better than glass carafes. The coffee stays much fresher in the stainless steel. I do not use the automatic grind feature as I grind my beans separately. Since this was the only Cuisinart Coffeemaker with a stainless steel carafe; I had to order it with the automatic grind feature. That is my reason for 4 stars. I wish you did not have to hit the "grind off" button first before you hit "brew" if you choose not to use the automatic grind.

I have 2 homes and have a cuisenart grind and brew in each. I have had approximately 5, as they do eventually break, and after several years need to be replaced. I would not think of using a different model , as my husband would never adjust ! He brings me fresh ground coffee every morning.

It's a great appliance, makes great tasting coffee. The only reason that I won't give it 5 stars is there are a lot of parts to clean out after every use. It is loud when grinding, but for a very short time.
