There is one big issue. The steam from the coffee water heating causes moisture in the grinder to keep the coffee grounds from going to the filter for the coffee to brew. So I have to grind the beans separately and fill the filter. Its aggravating and you cant even make coffee without the grinder in place.

This is my 3rd Grind & Brew 10cup Coffeemaker over the past ~25 years. The new version has some great improvements over the past models. The redesign of the unit to a square profile , reduced the size of the grinders to grounds compartment reducing the amount of steam entering the grinder compartment whose top has small vents to release the steam rather than it collecting in the grinder compartment. The top of the thermal coffee pot has been modified increasing both the drip orifice and the pouring orifice. Hopefully the widening of the drip orifice will make it easier to remove coffee grounds build up in the pots lid that can obstruct flow. I recommend that when cleaning the unit prior to next use you take special care to assure that there isn't any coffee grounds stuck in the top, by running water through the drip orifice on the bottom of the lid, shake it and release the water. If you see coffee grounds repeat until there's none. Otherwise you could find coffee all over your counter instead of in the thermal coffee pot. The instructions suggestion to add hot water to the thermal coffee pot significantly increases the temperature of the coffee in pot. In the past versions I had to microwave the coffee to increase it to the drinking temperature. My only problem was that the units feet wouldn't slide on my grannet counter top however I just attached small slides. The sliders slightly raised the base off the countertop and I'm hoping that that additional gap will eliminate the erosion of the metal base plate which was the reason for my replacement of both my previous models. I would definitely recommend this product as well as Cuisinart products in general. They generally are good quality and last a long time.

This unit has been improved over the one that it replaced. So far the bean grinder has not wedged in (making it nearly impossible to remove and clean) like the old one. It works well brewing and the controls are great. I like that the bin for the coffee and the lid are one unit. So far the included screen basket lets a bit of coffee sludge through. But that could just be the ground coffee that I use. So I use the paper filter instead. Also, the carafe works great at keeping the coffee hot all morning and into the afternoon. My only issue with it is you have to turn it nearly upside down to get the last bit of coffee out of it.

I have no complaints. It makes good hot coffee, with or without use of the bean grinder. The carafe (?) stays warm for long enough to enjoy, the grinder grinds evenly and the water covers the brew basket perfectly. Easy cleanup, simple programming, and seems solidly built.

The coffee that the Cuisanart Grind and Brew makes is great! We especially like the thermal carafe. Coffee doesn’t taste ‘cooked’ and is good even if it needs to be reheated later in the day. We replaced our first Cuisanart Grind and Brew after six years of daily use with the same machine.
