It makes wonderful fresh ground coffee. This is our third coffee maker of this model. We’ve been using one for 20 years. The program feature ensures your coffee is freshly brewed when you get up each morning. Fabulous.

I love this coffee maker. Had the DG-650 for 11 years, but it finally started leaking and replaced it with the closest model they make now at days. The clearly fixed the craft spout, which now pours like you would expect it to. They replaced the chrome sides with black plastic, which is why this is a lower model number, 450, I assume. It's still the best grinder/coffee maker combo on the market and if this dies in a decade, I'm hoping they are still making something as good as this or better.

Cuisinart's Automatic Grind & Brew Model 400

This is my second Cuisinart Automatic Grind & Brew Coffeemaker. My first grind & brew Cuisinart model 600, which was comparable in style to Cuisinart's newer model 550, was purchased in 2006 and, yes, it lasted me 15 years. I replaced it with model 400 and chose the model 400 over model 550 for a style change only. I am thrilled with my new Cuisinart model 400 and the fact that I have a shiny new coffeemaker. The features are very much the same as my older model, except that it now has a window on the side so you can see how much water is added. Also, the grind feature seems a bit quieter than the older model, but if someone were to be sleeping in the room next to the kitchen, they may hear it. I use bottled water to make my coffee, which not only tastes better, but keeps the machine clean reducing calcium buildup. Before making this purchase, I actually considered another Cuisinart coffeemaker model, without the grind & brew feature and purchasing a separate grinder, but realized that would only make the coffee making experience more complicated, and no less clean up. Going forward, I will be sticking with Cuisinart's automatic grind & brew models. There is no other.

Very happy with it but the “Clean” light keeps going off even after cleaning 3 times after one use after each time the light turned on. Don’t think I can trust the “Clean” light.
