Pricey. But, makes great deep thick Belgian waffles. Perfect waffles every time. Plates are not removable. Suggest cleaning w a toothbrush to get to the hard to reach areas of the iron.

My first waffle maker and I am fairly well pleased with it. The only little bit of negativity is that I tend to like my waffles fairly brown and even the time set on max, I need to add on time. Other than that, very good.
