It has been taking a lot of experimenting with different recipes, adding and subtracting ingredients as I go, to get the right combination. Sometimes it’s easier/better to let the machine do the mixing and rising then bake it in a conventional oven. I made blueberry jam twice and both times it didn’t set up, so I had to complete it on the stove. The recipe made a delicious jam, however, once I was able to thicken it. I am willing to keep trying because I love the size of the machine and I do like the taste of freshly baked bread.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Although this compact bread maker has a small footprint, it does so by making the bread in a taller and skinnier pan than most other bread makers. This, in turn, requires the bread to rise up farther than in other bread makers. The whole wheat recipe in the manual does not meet that challenge - the loaf of bread is far too dense. I've adjusted the recipe in a variety of ways to produce a better loaf but so far without success.

It’s a little noisy during the kneading cycle and tends to “move” with a large loaf size. The o e and a half size bakes better than the two pound size. The paddle comes out easily when sprayed with Pam before use. The two # loaf sinks in the middle.
