Excellent quality, performance, and reliability

I bought my first Cuisinart Compact Automatic Bread Maker in 2018 and have been using it ever since to make ALL bread for my family. It is a wee bit tired at this point and I am getting ready to order another one. It has worked flawlessly. When people say that it doesn't "bake bread" the way they want it, it is undoubtedly the recipe or the quantity of certain ingredients that is the problem. Although I have found that in many cases, the actual baking time listed in the recipe book is far too long. I usually stop the machine with about 37 minutes remaining on the number 1 cycle. Now that we are going to start milling our own wheat berries, I will be experimenting and expect some hockey pucks before I get just the right formula, but with my new replacement machine (which I will be ordering) I plan for another 9 years of beautiful fresh bread! Thank you, Cuisinart!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve made 2 loaves of white bread so far. I’ve tried 2 different recipes. Problem I found is the lightest crust setting is way too dark. I would consider it medium or dark. The next loaf I will try taking it out earlier. The harder crust makes the entire loaf harder. What I do like is how easy it is to run and the settings are easy to set. The size of the machine is great. Much smaller than I thought it would be.
I will have to experiment with cook times or just end up taking it out and cooking it in a pan in the oven. I don’t know if it’s just my unit doing the darker crust on the lightest setting, or if they are all set like that.
