My choice was based upon the recommendation of a friend after learning that a family member had to follow a low sodium diet and there were zero bread products on the shelves of the grocery stores in my area which satisfied the permissible sodium count per slice of bread. The compact design works well within the limitations of a small kitchen. I am especially pleased with the nonstick surface of the bread pan and have had no trouble removing the loaf once the process is complete. I love the fact that it beeps when one can remove the paddle and have found that it is very easy to do so. I studied the reviews before making my final decision on which bread maker to purchase, and made sure I read the handbook thoroughly before attempting my first loaf. My machine never smoked upon the first use which I understand can often be expected with a new machine. I thoroughly cleaned the unit before that first use and make sure it is clean before every new loaf is baked. I also read a few reviews that mentioned it moving around during the kneading process and saw a suggestion to set it on a silicon surface to keep it in place. I used that tip successfully and would recommend it to others. I suspect that it “rocks” more with my whole wheat flour recipes than with a lighter flour recipe because of the density of the flour and the add ins I use. Even so, that part of the cycle is very short and after that it is very still and extremely quiet!

Good machine but instruction book is a disappoint

This is my second Cuisinart bread maker though I have had other brands in the past. I like the fact that it makes a 2# loaf though I use it mostly for rolls. It is nice to have choices for browning and the instructions are clear. My biggest complaint is the size of print in the instruction book. I have to use a magnifying glass to read in it and consequently my choice of recipes is from other sources.

I like opportunity to make the bread at home without too much fuss or muss - but all items come out with the same basic appearance - it is just a function of the baking pan. I have made four different recipes since I purchased it a month ago - followed directions exactly and everything came out well.
