I bought this for myself as a Mothers Day/Birthday present. I've made a few different types of bread it it. Still experimenting. So far so good although I find the crust always come out hard and crunchy. Also last loaf I made was basic french from recipe book and lower half of bread was a differnt texture as top portion. ???? As if it didnt mix all the way or rise was off.

I am not happy with the product. My bread does not turn out. I am using good, fresh ingredients, I am measuring correctly and choosing the right controls. The white loaf is okay but does not rise and again my yeast is good. The rye bread is way too heavy, does not rise and is always too sticky when I want to remove the paddle. I have tried different things to correct this but nothing I have done works. The wheat bread has the same problem as the rye.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My second Cuisinart bread maker, much improved over the last. Wore out the larger previous model. Works great so I've keep the family in bread for three years now. Even give the compact one as a gift.
