The Compact bread maker works like a dream! I appreciate the many programs and have tried many of them, including the gluten free. It takes up much less space on my counter than my older bread maker. I appreciate the many recipes which came with it and look forward to researching more online. The directions are clear and easy to follow.

OK for a "mindless" loaf. If you are a specialty bread maker this isn't going to give you the textures you crave. I've made 4 varieties so far. 3 were a bit dry on medium crust setting. The taste is OK. I'll be using this for I'd like to say quick bread but it's not quick, the process is still about 3 hours. I guess you can call it a no mess loaf. No need to come back and re-work. I haven't tried the timer setting yet but I think it would be nice to bake while sleeping and wake up for a fresh loaf to make French Toast for breakfast.

The machine is very good overall. I am really happy with my purchase. The price vs the end product and features make me very happy. A few points to consider. The bread is baked more in a vertical orientation. You won't get traditional loaf shape. Also the crust colour is darker than I would prefer. So I use the machine to make the dough, then I bake it my over with a bread pan.
The beeping of the machine is VERY loud. This is great if you aren't near it. But I would like to see the option to turn the beeping volume down.
Lastly, the recipes in the book a great but will require that you tweek them to your taste. I find they are light on yeast in general, so they make dense bread that doesn't rise enough.
Don't let these suggestions or critiques mislead you. I love this machine and use it almost daily.
