My experience with the coiled wire heater element used in competitive brands is that they fail just after the 2-year warranty. I wanted to try a toaster oven with a sheathed heating element. My Cuisinart model has them.
As a senior citizen, I wish that Cuisinart would have put a white line on the selector knobs so that it is easier to see what function has been selected. I added white paint to mine and now have total satisfaction with this appliance.

I bought this toaster oven to replace a toaster and find that I use it for much more than making toast. I have baked potatoes, cooked bacon, and baked an egg bake. It fits perfectly on the counter. Great product!

I bought this toaster oven as an exact replacement of the one I had. I love this toaster ovens quiet and simple design. I never had a single issue with the original. I am giving this oven a 3 BECAUSE this one will have to be returned to the store. The done tone got stuck and I had to unplug it to turn it off and it makes popping noises as it heats up and cooks. In addition the new design of the pan is awkward and hard to slide - I prefer the old pan. I will replace this one with the same oven though because I do love it - this one just had issues.

This is my second toaster oven to own. The first one was a different brand. It never cooked evenly and I ended up giving it away after 4 months. I bought the Cuisinart about a month ago. It cooks quick! It toasts great! I am so happy with it! In some of the reviews people were concerned because there’s not a timer. When you set it on “toast”, when it’s finished, it beeps and shuts off. Works great for me! The sound of the “beeper” is very loud, but in my busy house, that’s noisy with kids, Inlike having something loud!

the toaster function is terrible. If you select medium (middle of the dial) it burns the toast. If you lower the setting the toast has no color. The only way to get browned toast is to watch and remove from machine before the toast is burnt.

This is not our first Toaster Oven and we have found that we have overcooked or burned several dishes. Not sure if there is some bad sensors or what. One feature we miss is there is NO timer as we had before.

Lots of options for toasting, baking, broiling. The dials aren't exact, so it's difficult to get the toast consistently the right color every time. I'm generally satisfied except for the very annoying alert tone when the toast is done -- it is SO LOUD and piercing that I set the toast for darker than needed so that I can turn it off before it goes off. Very jarring. If there's a fix for this, someone please tell me.

Overall it is a great design and good for baking, but toast making is another story. I'm on my second unit, and it has the same problem as the first, on light setting it toasts like it is on well done. There must be a design flaw with these toaster ovens, as the one I got my mother-in-law does this too. Also, the beep to let you know it is done toasting is extremely loud and annoying. It does bake well though.
