We bought this toaster oven to replace an old Black & Decker. Good features (especially the pull-out crumb tray), and nice appearance overall. But the knob for the toaster needs updated in a future model: the raised indicator, used to show exactly your preference for the lightness/darkness, is barely noticeable. A white line on that would be good. But in regard to the toast function, I can't imagine seeing that any higher than halfway: anything more would give you burnt beyond eating. That and one more thing: the alarm beeping, which sounds when your function is done, is way too loud. There is no setting for this.

Replaced same model purchased 6 years ago. I had same problems other reviewers had concerning heating element bending and catching fire--but only after six years. Decided to replace with hopes it would last another six years because really like features of toaster (especially crumb tray) and inexpensive. However, this unit takes much longer to heat up and it also makes a "popping" noise a couple times during use. Chalk this up to being heat related but my first toaster didn't do it. Also doesn't toast evenly.

I have owned several countertop ovens over the years and this Cuisinart is one of my favorites. I live in a studio apartment and was looking for a small oven that is capable of getting hot enough to cook casseroles and bake a potato. While the oven is smaller than some I have used previously I am very happy with the performance. My only complaint is the control knobs are not easy to adjust to your desired setting. The all black outer surface of the knob has ribs all the way around. The rib you need to set on your desired temperature, function or toast shade is only slightly taller making it difficult to see if you have it where you want it.

I'm a single and mostly preparing meals just for me...I can do lots I used to do in the oven in the toaster oven. Bake, broil, toast, all good, easy clean up, a nice addition to my loved Cuisinart appliences.

We had a Cuisinart Toaster Over for over 10 years and loved it. But finally the thermostat quit so we went back to Cuisinart. The newer one is larger, better designed, with a new feature -Bagel. Sadly we found it turned itself on from time to time even with the Mode switch in OFF. Reported it to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (search for the report.) We got a new one under warranty and its fine. We like it. I'd buy one again. Make sure yours stays off or get a new one. The bad one is in the labs at Cuisinart for a post mortum.

good purchase to reduce amount of appliances. No need to have a toaster anymore and great for cooking/baking needs for small items so you don't have to use the oven. Works very fast and easy to clean.

This product is a replacement for the same item which was under warranty and stopped toasting evenly. This one is definitely better but there is still some hotter areas when toasting. Also, be aware that your replacement product may take several weeks to receive.

Heats up quickly, great size for counter top. Would have given it a 5 star rating except for the dials. I can't read them, barely with my reading glasses and must have a bright light shining on the dial to see anything. I'm tempted to sell it and buy a better brand that i can read.
