I bought this model to replace the exact same model I'd had for a number of years which I loved. The newer model is not as good for two reasons. 1) the bell to alert you the food is ready is too low. 2) the toaster does not brown as good as the older model. I do like the size and it's perfect for cooking for one or two people.

Two factors in favor of this product. First, it does not use quartz lamp technology. Instead it uses Calrod like the heating element in an electric oven. Pizza cheese dripping on quartz lamps degrades their performance and life and the screens that protect the lamps can catch more drippings causing smoke and setting off smoke detectors. And quartz lamps fail. I do not seeing myself replacing lamp bulbs in products that change with the season as they can become hard to find and expensive.
Second, it's the smallest new Calrod toaster oven I could find on the market. Counter space is limited in city apartments and condos and competing products I've seen have quartz lamps. Unfortunately Cuisinart has discontinued this product so my next one will likely be a used unit.
Although priced higher than it deserves because of the Cuisinart brand, it's the one I'm using.
Second, it's the smallest new Calrod toaster oven I could find on the market. Counter space is limited in city apartments and condos and competing products I've seen have quartz lamps. Unfortunately Cuisinart has discontinued this product so my next one will likely be a used unit.

The only negative I have... the numbers and lettering on the dials are difficult to see unless the room lighting is just right. Sometimes it helps if I read them at an angle other than straight on.

Had one for years but this replacement unfortunately doesn’t toast properly at all. Have to set it all the way at ‘Dark’ and still one cycle is not sufficient for golden brown. Disappointing.

This is a replacement oven to the same one that I bought 12 years ago that finally failed. I liked the first one and it fit my needs perfectly. Luckily the same model is still manufactured so I purchased it. Hope this one lasts as long as the other one did.

The toaster oven is a little smaller than expected, but it works great. It browns my toast quickly and evenly. The latch on the door that is supposed to pull the rack out as you open the door isn't the best design and could be improved. I was a little disappointed that there is not a timer on the oven. Otherwise, it works great!
