We were looking for a replacement toaster oven that was not wider than our old one, but not smaller either. This Cuisinart model TOB-40N was just right: slightly larger in width and height, but best of all, a couple of inches deeper. This meant it would fit in the space we needed to put it, but still give us more room inside. You can bake a pie in a 9-inch pan. The instruction guide and recipe booklet tells you what you need to know, but be sure to read it carefully. The knobs control different functions and settings. Don't try to keep the power cord wrapped around the storage cleats in the back--the cord needs to be at least an inch away from the oven or it will be damaged by the heat. And always unplug it when not in use or you'll be using electricity. The recipes are a good starting place, but the directions are vague about the position in which to put the rack and/or baking pan. Also, sometimes the directions say "rack" when it seems like it should be "pan." In a few cases the level at which you should put the rack or pan is not specified. So, be flexible and plan on some trial-and-error. We've had this about a month, and it does everything we have needed to do. We're happy.

We go to Florida for 3 months and I wanted to bring a toaster oven this time, I shopped around and purchased the same one I have now. I use it everyday for the 2 of us. It fits a pie plate or 8x8 baking dish, actually fits 2 if you use the 2 racks. I made 18 meatballs in it yesterday and I cook all my fish on the baking sheet. All the others I looked at were too big or too small. I kitty corner it and it fits nicely. My only feedback is the toaster alarm still makes me jump, as it sounds like the fire alarm.

My husband is blind and once I started shopping for a new toaster oven, I discovered how few are actually accessible for the visually handicapped. The top dial clicks in place for the various settings. The middle dial has a divot to show where the temperature is... this is one thing that would be better if it clicked into various places. The bottom dial also has the divot for toast color, but again would be better if it clicked into place. The toast button is great and a bell dings when your toast is done. I like the size for my countertop and what I'm able to fit inside. Thank you, Cuisinart, for not making all your products digital!

The only negative I have... the numbers and lettering on the dials are difficult to see unless the room lighting is just right. Sometimes it helps if I read them at an angle other than straight on.

Had one for years but this replacement unfortunately doesn’t toast properly at all. Have to set it all the way at ‘Dark’ and still one cycle is not sufficient for golden brown. Disappointing.
